The key line is "using scarce property tax dollars to fund an amenity when basic needs are not being met is not progressive."
ReplyDeleteRe: ...value capture district could generate enough revenue to sustain a $60 million bond for the streetcar project. The city is seeking federal funds to help make up the gap. The Feds think KC streetcar project stinks as much as the citizens.

ReplyDeleteWhen is Kansas City going to wake up and realize this is just a boondoggle. Seems to me that this expenditure should be voted on by all of Kansas City especially since they are already spending money on studies to expand this starter line.
