TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! BOARD MEMBERS FOR KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEAR DOCTORAL ROBES FOR RECENT GRADUATION CEREMONIES!!!

Kansas City graduation season brings hope for change and more than a few interesting observations.

To wit . . .

A KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTER SEEMS TO QUESTION THE FASHION CHOICES OF THE KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD!!!

Check the testimony . . .

"I attended several KCMSD graduations this week and noticed that Airick West, Joseph Jackson, and other board members donned robes with the 3 stripes indicating they had acquired doctoral degrees . . . Hmmmmmm"

The World's Most Accurate Encyclopedia confirms this observation in notes on academic dress in the United States: "Doctoral robes are typically black, although some schools use robes in the school's colors. The Code calls for the outside shell of the hood (see, below) to remain black in that case, however. In general, doctoral gowns are similar to the gowns worn by bachelor's graduates, with the addition of three velvet bands on the sleeves and velvet facing running down the front of the gown."

And so . . .

CONGRATULATIONS TO MEMBERS OF THE KCPS SCHOOL BOARD ON THEIR RECENTLY AWARDED DOCTORAL DEGREES!!!

Sadly, none of this will help KCPS accreditation or recently passed Show-Me State Legislation that speeds up a Missouri takeover of troubled school districts.
