KANSAS CITY FIRST FRIDAY MAY 2013

Kansas City First Friday in May of 2013 was unusually cold , rainy and kind of nice because the crowds were thinned out and only the hardcore art aficionados made an appearance.

Here's how it looked to me . . .

At the top of these stairs sounded like more than a bit of hip-hop, jazz, techno fusion but old school Kansas City firetrap buildings scare me so this was as close as I got.

Kansas City's Moon Drop Circus performed a Crossroads flower shop. In between conversations about tech startups, the crowd seemed to appreciate their antics.

That chandelier was even bigger than it looks . . .

This 9/11 inspired artwork was probably the best thing I noticed all night.

Again, for the first time in a long time it was impressive to see people actually looking at the Crossroads art instead of just texting each other to find some place to eat.

Outside of Birdies and trying to get a "leading lines" shot with the advertising rocket in the background.

Kemper peacock art . . . Commenter dirty jokes are probably better than mine.

Back to the car . . . Thankful for a text that featured breaking news we're getting ready to share in just a bit.
