An overly simplified view of the current controversy rocking the County right now . . .
Newspaper: For a glimpse of Jackson County assessment problems, just check these three houses
I think TKC TIPSTER DATA regarding questions about political patronage and property tax assessment is more important but the great thing about the Internets is that people can read BOTH.
Meanwhile . . .
HAS JACKSON COUNTY LEGISLATOR CRYSTAL WILLIAMS DONE ANYTHING BUT PROVIDE AN ONLINE LINK AND SOME KIND WORDS WHEN IT COMES TO THE JACKSON COUNTY PROPERTY TAX DEBACLE?!?!
Sure, that's more than most of the legislators are doing (not really) but it doesn't represent NEARLY AS MUCH WORK AS SHE'S PUTTING INTO HER REELECTION CAMPAIGN!!!
Developing . . .
You got to hand it to Sanders. He knows how to do damage control.
ReplyDeleteBringing in an outside appraisal firm could expose the county to more criticism but Sanders can say he moved quickly to get to the bottom of the problem and then he will fix it.
It's just amazing that properties on one of the richest streets in Kansas City are assessed so low. Especially when the guy who convinced the courts that property taxes needed to be increased drastically to pay for school upgrades lives there. (Pay as I say not as I do.) Could political influence be a factor here?
ReplyDeleteTony you might be wrong about Crystal's "effectiveness." Check your archives, and I think you will find that Crystal held a major fundraiser for her failed Senate race at a Jansen Place address. Now, we see that Jansen Place is undervalued for tax assessment purposes. Just sayin'
ReplyDeleteCrystal has an agenda and it has nothing to do the people of Jackson County. She is nothing but a political hack in a dress. She lied to get elected, and she has done nothing since except further her cause with the Women's political caucus.
ReplyDeleteI am sure the fundraiser included a promise of no worry I will take care of keeping your taxes low.
ReplyDeleteSanders now is going to spend thousands of taxpayer dollars on a outside firm to do a job he was paid to do nice, real nice.
ReplyDeleteMike every County Executive has lost over these kind of problems.Voters hate property taxes.
ReplyDeleteCupid Stunt
ReplyDeleteSo Allan Hallquist, who's been sucking at the School District legal fee teat for decades, has been paying taxes on his property that is appraised at 1/10th of its real value!! I'm sure he runs down every year to pay those below market taxes...when will this ever end!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a mess that all taxpayers are paying for.
ReplyDeleteNutter is one of the chosen few who pays lower taxes. He pays to play.
ReplyDeleteIf the Feds look at this mess someone is in trouble.
ReplyDeleteCalvin the Fixer said he wants to get to the bottom of the problem and fix it.
ReplyDeleteQuit Calvin. Stop doing everything that you do. What YOU do is the problem.
Mr. Tony,
ReplyDeleteI thank you for the fine reading on this blog. I hope some of your tipsters get to the nitty gritty over the Mark Jones fiasco. Seems that something is rearing up and set to bite Skippy's lazy ass.
PS Crystal Williams is way to lame to take up so much blog space.... wait... hmmmm, well maybe no. She is just a bit of ill wind that ain't blowing in some good. 4 years from now she will STILL be at the county with the rest of the lost souls too weak to make a political break out.
ReplyDeleteHow does she feel about the Klan rally at Missouri Town, scheduled for September 14?
