Legislators have failed at banning/regulating these substances. They're on the losing side of this battle, but they still have the power and don't hesitate to abuse it. It's cost prohibitive and time consuming to prove that the products you're selling are "technically" legal, and no one is going to lose sleep over someone's rights being violated if they're peddling questionable products that are only legal because of loopholes.
ReplyDeleteMicah Riggs is a victim, but he made the right decision to get out of the K2 retail business. The Federal Government is going after the manufacturers, and young adults who are suffering irregular heart conditions after "misusing" the "incense" are inundating this industry with civil lawsuits.
K2 doesn't refer to anything. It's a label that anyone can self apply. K2 is not an illegal substance. The substances themselves change week to week or day to day to skirt the laws. It's a fact that synthetic drugs are easier to make than laws banning them.
ReplyDeleteThe great irony of this is that due to a relatively safe and consistent product, marijuana, being illegal, the truly unpredictable and dangerous drugs have proliferated.
And yet nobody seems to realize this. We keep doing the same shit over and over expecting different results.
Exactly. Just legalize marijuana and the synthetic drug market practically dries up.
