Save KCI examines Dead Tree Media Spin Within The Context Of News reporting: "In one sentence, those who are questioning the current proposal are reduced to emotional, irrational people; are insulted for being so stupid as to consider not destroying a top-rated airport that is (gasp) FORTY years-old; are made abusers of those who are pushing the proposal and are essentially reduced to a loud, unruly mob. Well played."
Even better, thinking back about their weekend article reminds me that they focused on politicos and GOP connections INSTEAD of the price tag worth BILLIONS.

"It’s going to happen regardless of whether our citizens want it to happen.” Pretty much sums up how government works in KCMO.
ReplyDeleteI read the article and found it very condescending. It seems to assume no one has ever been in a "real" airport--as if people who fly out of KCI don't actually fly to another airport.
ReplyDelete6:17 - agree 100%. I'm hardly a world traveler but I've probably flown in and out of 50+ airports around the country on hundreds of flights over the last 20 years and think MCI is one of the best. It may not be the newest or fanciest or have the best amenities but it is just damn convenient. It would be a shame to see it go away just so some politico can hang a plaque on the wall.
