The Kansas City Health Care Levy is coming up for renewal soon and mainstream media has yet to offer even a cursory examination of the sloppy proposal.

CHECK OUT TWO BIG REASONS THAT CRITICS OF THE KANSAS CITY HEALTH CARE LEVY HAVE WARNED AGAINST A DOUBLE DOWN ON THIS VOTE!!!

First up . . .



THIS TOWN HAS SEEMINGLY FORGOTTEN THAT THE KANSAS CITY CITIZENS COMMISSION ON MUNICIPAL REVENUE RECOMMENDED ONLY A FOUR YEAR EXTENSION OF THE HEALTHCARE LEVY BUT INSTEAD THE VOTE PROLONGS THE TAX FOR NINE YEARS!!!

Once again City Hall asked for input from locals, got an answer, didn't like it AND THEN decided to do something different. In fact, the architects of this Kansas City scheme want DOUBLE and then some.

Local Democracy relies less and less on voters but this instance of absolute neglect of voter input seems even more egregious.

Accordingly . . .

The concerns over the Health Care Levy have a lot to do with the future of Obamacare and this brings us to another fun fact brought forth by the BRILLIANT TKC BLOG COMMUNITY . . .



THE HEALTH CARE LEVY CAN'T BE ROLLED BACK WITHOUT A SPECIAL ELECTION!!! IN THE EVENT OF AN OBAMACARE WIN, KANSAS CITY WILL BE PAYING DOUBLE FOR INDIGENT MEDICAL NEEDS!!!

That's right . . . If/When Prez Obama gets his way . . . Which seems to be happening all over the nation after the 2012 win . . . Kansas City will still be paying the Health Care Levy and that puts taxpayers on the hook for DOUBLE if things go right for the President in the next decade.

And so . . .

These two warnings should offer reason enough to reconsider this proposal and also make it clear that local politicos really didn't seem to double check their work despite the fact that care for Kansas City's neediest is on the line.
