Leigh Ann is our friend and one of the best people on the Internets. Today she offers this MUST READ ASSESSMENT of local politics.
To wit . . .
CHECK THIS MUST READ ASSESSMENT OF THE SUGAR CREEK MAYORAL RACE AND A POTENTIAL SPOILER!!!
Take a look:
Please Do NOT FALL FOR THE SPOILER!
Background . . .
"In the race for Sugar Creek mayor, there are three candidates. Mayor Stan Salva, the 14-year incumbent, is running against successful pharmacist/Independence School Board Vice President Matt Mallinson. But there's a spoiler in the race named Leonard Fullbright, running for office for the sole purpose of taking votes away from Mallinson."
And while it's policy for TKC to avoid most every part of the KCMO rural area . . . This is local political insight is important and provides a great deal of insight into the strange politics of Sugar Creek.
THANK YOU LEIGH ANN!!!
She should try the grasping, butt kissing approach to popularity.
ReplyDeleteT usually avoids rural areas unless he's trying to get into the shrubbery between the thighs of an aspiring female blogger

ReplyDeleteIsn't Salva one of the IDIOTS responsible for the shopping center eminent domain THEFT of peoples homes and businesses?
You know, the one where a viable neighborhood was STOLEN from its residents and razed for a private contractor?
http://www.castlecoalition.org/castlewatch/55-15-businesses-56-homes-blighted-in-sugar-creek-missouri
You know, the one where all these years later that property is now BLIGHTED because of the actions of the City, lead by Salva?
You know, that grand plan to steal all those homes and businesses, and force the people out of a City-Proclaimed "Blighted" area? Yes, that one...which really wasn't blighted at all. They just made a cozy deal with a private company to steal everyone's home/land so a developer and the City could build a shopping mall named "Sugarland". *eyeroll*
Yes folks, thanks to Salva and his cabal, no-one is going to Sugar Creek for some shopping at that wonderful eminent-domain-abuse-for-private-commercial-use success story *cough* Sugarland Mall!
Why, you ask?...there's nothing there but blighted land, overgrowth, pollution, and rubble that once had homes and families and businesses and...
If Salva is re-elected, then one of two things is happening in Sugar Creek:
1) The election is rigged;
2) The people of Sugar Creek are insanely STUPID.
Google Map "Sugar Creek, MO" and switch to Satellite view.
Look at the property bordered on one side at 24 Highway and Sterling Rd. (N of 24, W of Sterling).
Zoom in you will see that it's a wasteland/eyesore now.
Now use the streetview feature on Google Maps along that stretch of 24 as well as Sterling...you'll see barricades at 24 and Smart St., as well as off of Sterling and S. Harris Ave....
come on now, go do it...it only takes a minute to look...
Looks mighty BLIGHTED NOW, doesn't it?
Now that you have seen what Salva and his henchmen have done, you can see the old neighborhood that was destroyed by using Google Streetview INSIDE those barricades...the OLD streetview photos are still on Google for those streets because no vehicle can drive into there to take new ones!
Go look at the neighborhood that was destroyed.
Just check out the streetview still available on Google Maps for Smart St. and S. Harris...
...now that you have seen what was there, do you really think Salva should be re-elected YET AGAIN?
Every City official responsible for this crime should not only be thrown out of office, but should be in prison.
Google "sugar creek MO sugarland mall eminent domain" if you want to read about this crime.
I like Pooch Cafe
ReplyDeleteShades of the Sugar Creek Refinery....Hardly what you'd call "rural"....
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of the old refinery...after the mayor and his henchmen handed over stolen property to a developer, the managed to excavate a bunch of soured soil polluted by that refinery and pile it up for everyone to smell and gag over.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the BLIGHT, Mr. Mayor.
Where is the fucking shopping mall, Stan?
Nice piles of rubble where a neighborhood used to be.
It's been the better part of a DECADE since you made all those promises....
Stay out of Sugar creek me friends.
ReplyDeleteWell given that Sugar Creek is the hub of political power in Missouri we should all get worked up and excited over this race.
ReplyDeleteSugar Creek, trust me nothing sweet about that dump
ReplyDeleteThings will change with Matt Mallinson!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou all need to get jobs so you have less time to post misinformation about things you a) don't know and b) don't understand.
