KICK-ASS KANSAS CITY KOSHER NEWS!!!

Two important Kansas City cultural items for this Shabbat - Don't take that as insensitivity, my Catholic education and the fact that I tried really hard (and failed) to boink a Jewish stripper gave me a deeper understanding of one of the world's great faiths.

Also . . . I learned that a stripper's parents are never gonna like a guy she met at the club.

Anyhoo . . .

Joshua Nelson is often called the "Prince Of Kosher Gospel" and he's coming soon to Kansas City.

AND THEN . . .

Here's a cultural foodie link that's certainly worth a click . . .

From The KC Jewish Chronicle: New Hy-Vee kosher section set to appeal to surrounding Jewish area

More detail . . .

"Kosher Department Manager Meir Anton as he showed off the dry good shelves, dairy and meat cases in the 80,000-square-foot store.

Anton explained the store, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, currently assigns a 36-foot aisle to dry packaged goods. Two separate cooler sections, a total of 14 feet of space, are devoted to kosher dairy products and meat.

This is comparable to the space devoted to kosher foods by Hen House Market at 117th and Roe Avenue in Leawood. Hen House is the only retail store in the area where consumers can purchase kosher foods freshly prepared on site."

  2. So guess this means that Hen House says a bunch of Jews live in Leawood.

  3. I also heard that in the interest of diversity the local Jewish markets are introducing Chicken Fried Steak and steak and tater departments.

  4. All of this sounds yum.

  5. Oy vey! This area also has the only kosher Subway sandwich shop in the area.
After I fill my cart with matzo and knish, I'll stop upstairs for a glass of Manischewitz!
