TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! SORRY MAYOR SLY!!! RESIDENTS: KANSAS CITY SNOW REMOVAL STAYS LOSING!!!

A big week for Kansas City Mayor Sly ended with a disappointment and a reality check regarding the state of City Services.

To wit . . .

ACCORDING TO TKC SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH MOST KANSAS CITY VOTERS REMAIN DISAPPOINTED WITH SNOW REMOVAL DESPITE HIGH PROFILE EFFORTS AT IMPROVEMENT FROM MAYOR SLY'S ADMINISTRATION!!!

Sorry, I'm joking just a bit . . . Not about scientific research but about the Mayor's efforts . . . He works on the streetcar and hopes for a 1k room hotel on most days.

Anyhoo . . . The snowfall serves as a reality check for Kansas City progress, hope and change during Mayor Sly's tenure.

To his credit, Mayor Sly made great use of social media and his reporter buddies to blast the message that he was "on the job" as the snow came down. Still, as the day dragged on it was clear from all of the abandoned cars and barely passable streets that Mayor Sly's efforts hadn't paid off.

Again, in fairness . . .

CRAPPY SNOW REMOVAL IS A LONG STANDING KANSAS CITY PROBLEM!!! EVEN WORSE, NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERS CONSTANTLY LAMENT CITY STRATEGY THAT KEEPS SNOW PLOWS AWAY FROM SIDE STREETS!!!

Voter and neighborhood dissatisfaction over snow removal was one of the many factors that led to the demise of former Mayor Funky.

And speaking of scientific proof . . .

WAIT A FEW MOMENTS AND CHECK THE KANSAS CITY SNOW PLOW MAP TO PROVE A GREAT MANY RESIDENTS CORRECT!!!

A screen shot from this morning . . .

Yes, GPS reveals plows on major streets but just look outside and notice that a "once over" wasn't going to cut it during this "snow state of emergency" looming over Kansas City.

A bit more local testimony . . .

This came up in the comments last night . . .

"Snow removal my ass. In Brookside we hired a private contractor to clear the side streets because we NEVER see a city plow."

A few calls later, this checks out . . . There are more than a few nice neighborhoods in Midtown Kansas City that take care of their own snow removal rather than waiting for City plows that never arrive.

To wit . . .

Mayor Sly might want to make snow angels and pray for a quick melt or grab a shovel rather than going through with his SNOW REMOVAL TOUCHDOWN DANCE that AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS tell us he has planned for later today.

DEVELOPING . . .

  1. KC residents are complainers. Just move to Overland Park where it's nice and dry and the grass is greener under the snow.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Who in City Hall came up with the brilliant idea that it was never necessary to plow residential streets?

    ReplyDelete
  3. If you listen to KMBZ radio in the morning, you'll see the biggest slobber-fest in history. They fawn and fall down around Mayor Silverback like he is the second coming. Jeez, what happened to objective reporting?? The station really sucks with this kind of crap.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Reporters love Sly. They don't care about reality.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Mayor Snowjob

    ReplyDelete
  6. So YOUR street hasn't been plowed curb to curb and down to the pavement less than 24 hours after the biggest snowfall in decades, so you're going to whine and cry about it like a little bitch.

Well, folks, a snow plow has already made one pass on my residential street. Did it yesterday afternoon. Perfect? No, but passable? Yes.

Oh, and be sure to bitch and moan and whine and cry about high taxes, too.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Uh, Tony? Sorry, but you sacrificed your credibility on the "snow removal" issue last winter when you bitched about a 1/2 inch snowfall that wasn't plowed fast enough to suit you, even though it melted by noon.

But if you want your blog to become the go-to place for the whiners to gripe that the streets aren't back to normal less than 24 hours after a blizzard, go ahead.

I would like to know, however, how many of them have shoveled their sidewalks.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Snow removal yesterday in KCMO was excellent.

NO MAJOR CITY IN AMERICA REGULARLY PLOWS SIDESTREETS!!!!!!

That's suburban ninny shit. People who live in real cities just make do, especially places like KC where major snow is rare.

Also, that was the biggest snowstorm in a half a century, you fucking crybabies.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Stuck in Waldo2/22/13, 8:42 AM

I could give a flying fig about Tony's "credibility" the fact is that he's right about this issue.

When is the Mayor going to get the side streets plowed?

He isn't even doing a good job on the main streets.

Waldo is a mess right now and the plows are coming way to infrequently.

It's a shame that the Mayor's supporters are too busy trying to make attacks on blogs instead of getting the job done.

You're a big guy, go get a shovel McGurk.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Plow the streets and get off of Twitter Mayor.

There is your tip for the day.

    ReplyDelete
  11. sly sold us out

  12. It might be a little too early to judge teh effects of snow removal after such a heavy snow fall.

Act of God and all that.

Lets see what happens by the end of THIS day.

I think that is probably more realistic given the variables.

    ReplyDelete
  13. What a bunch of pussies! I thought the plow crews did a great job considering all of he snow that fell. They warned you to stay off the streets. Instead, a bunch of you morons drove in it anyway, blocking the plows so they couldn't get by. How do you expect them to remove the snow when your fucking car is blocking the street because you just had to run to quick trip and get a pack of smokes and got stuck at the end of your driveway!? You whiny pricks have no common sense! Do you think they have a plow truck on every city street at one time? You are a bunch of dumb fucks!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I learned the hard not to shovel or salt the sidewalk in front of my house until after the snow plows have made a few passes. That's because once the plows finally DO come, they drive so fast that instead of piling the snow at the curb line, the snow is thrown right back onto the sidewalk that I've cleared and salted. And it seems those asshole snow plow drivers do this intentionally.

    ReplyDelete
  15. You know what would settle this debate?

    A brand new street car.

Or a 1,000 room hotel subsidized by the taxpayers. That is Sly's only plan.

    ReplyDelete
  16. That's right, 9:04. There are a lot of poor folks who walk in my neighborhood, many with kids. After that bad storm a couple years ago, I borrowed a snowblower to clear my sidewalk. Since it was done in Jo time, I decided to clear a path on the main route to the closest bus stop. Spent 2 1/2 hours clearing about 1000' of sidewalk so the bus riders and kids wouldn't have to walk in the street.

I had finished no more Han 10 minutes earlier when a snow plow came hurtling down the street, blasting snow 15' from the street and covering cars, hitting houses, and of course, covering up the sidewalk I'd just cleared with that wet snow/slush/salt mix that sets up like concrete. I could do nothing but stand there and watch.

When he got to the top of the hill where I was standing, I flagged him down and asked him I he realized what he'd just done. He gave me a knowing, sheepish grin and told me his job was to clear the street, and he really didn't care about the sidewalks, cars or houses along his route.

I proceeded to explain to this guy what an inconsiderate asshole he was an called him in to the 9-1-1 Action Center. The call taker was only concerned if anyone had been injured or any property damage done. Doesn't matter that the plow driver covered up a clear path and now the neighborhood kids would have to walk in the street.

Bottom line? Fuck you 9:00, and your asshole snow plow drivers, too. Bunch of goddamned self-righteous selfish dickheads.

  18. ROFLMAO.....glad I moved out of KC. Don't have to deal with the felons or fuck ups that work at the City anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  19. ROFLMAO, glad youre gone. Now take your trail of whiny tears and your tiny faggoty violin with you out to beigeburg.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Those tears aren't from whining, 9:25. They're tears of joy that asshats like you are limited to only a virtual presence in my life.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Amazing that K.C. can't get their streets plowed with 200 million in other folks money via the E-Tax.

You get what you pay for, which for K.C. residents means nothing.

Btw, my neighborhood was plowed 5 times yesterday with the latest time being around midnight.

    Fun times!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I went to the fair one night with my cousin. We had a fun time. We go on the Ferris Wheel I saw a nigga trying to step to her. I broke my foot in his ass quickly and slapped the taste out his mouth. He said, "What's the problem?" I said you're a bitch and I ain't and I want to whoop your ass. His girlfriend stepped up tried to intervene. I slapped her in her damn mouth and knocked all her teeth out. Made her suck my dick afterwords. Unforgivable.

    ReplyDelete
  23. As a resident at 20th and Main I find your complaints strange, we see public works clearing Main over and over, even when there is no snow left. Breaking storefronts along the way. Maybe a management problem at public works?

    ReplyDelete
  24. For all the dumb fucks now whining because they DID plow your streets and the snow covered your sidewalk, where did you expect all that snow to go?

Gawd, Kansas City is full of whiney dumbasses.

But that's the TKC way. Bitch either way.

    ReplyDelete
  25. KC MO. only clears streets in higher income neighborhoods. Sly six just like the last one.

    ReplyDelete
  26. My county streets were plowed yesterday afternoon, and then finished off with a secondary blading last night. Always good snow removal. You idiots just chose to live in the wrong place.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Whiney Citizen- "I'm thirsty. When will the water be back on?"

Asshat City Employee- "Here's a glass of my piss."

Whiney Citizen- "It looks bad, smells awful and probably tastes even worse. I don't want THAT!!"

Asshat City Employee-"Bitch, moan and complain. Never satisfied. That's all you ever do."

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's KCMO, people. It sucks here. It is NEVER going to change. Start planning your move now.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The City did a poor job of plowing my street. I called the City this morning to report it.

Within 30 minutes, a City employee arrived with a backhoe. He proceeded to spend the next hour and a half clearing the street from curb to curb. He placed the removed snow in people's yards, being careful not to block driveways, sidewalks or parked cars.

Great job, KCK Public Works Department.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 11:20 is clearly either a life-long KC resident or a recent transplant from a warm weather state. Also is an incoonsiderate ass without a clue about how to do a job right. But that's what I'd expect from an apologist for Shitty employees.

    ReplyDelete
  31. We just had a major blizzard - how quickly do you think they can get to every single side street in KC?

Damn KC people complain a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Too bad the toy trains aren't running yet. We could have hitched plows to the front and at least had a 2.2 mile road from nowhere to nowhere cleared.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Maybe Sly only wants to plow the taxpayers asses while he's wasting your tax dollars.

    ReplyDelete
  34. 8:14 AM

Fuck you, I am still waiting to see a plow after the last snow storm. You fucking lazy assed City Worker.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ok folks, face some facts:

Kansas City has 6,400 miles of streets. That is a LOT of asphalt to plow, especially when snow is falling at a rate of 2" per hour. There is no way the City crews are going to be able to clear the streets in a timely fashion with a snow storm of this magnitude. It's not possible.

I'm one of the first to complain when I receive City services that I think are subpar, but to complain about less-than-perfect snow removal in this instance is ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well on this one KS wins. My family in KS have clean streets and did not miss work today. I have yet to see a snow plow in my section of KCMO. Yes, if I was not required to live within City limits for my job, I would live in KS!

    ReplyDelete
  37. 9:19, I'm sure the sole reason the snow plow drivers exist is to ruin your day. They probably sit down your street waiting for you to finish clearing your walks just so they can purposefully throw snow on them. Did you ever think snow plows have to move fast to keep their momentum to prevent their own trucks from getting stuck? It's about doing their job and clearing the streets, not about pissing in your cornflakes.

    ReplyDelete
  38. 1:05, don't you get it? It's always about ME, ME, ME!!!

Note the complaints. Either they don't plow the streets, or they do plow the streets but actually pushed the snow off the street.

And just for the record, the guy's story who claimed to clear blocks of sidewalks was less credible than a Craig Glazer fairy tale.

For his info, though, the Action Center's number isn't 9-1-1.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The worst snow removal of any Mayor. Sly will never get my vote again. Quit showboating at news conferences and do your job.Loser

  40. How 'bout a little schadenfreude folks?

Just talked to two of my friends in Lee's Summit. The main roads are clear, NOTHING else.

They say they have cars snowed in on side streets all over town.

    You're welcome.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh come on, 2:15. You don't have to vote for Sly, but give him credit. The worst snow removal I experienced was under give-it-away Kay who relied on global warming to take care of the streets. Really. That way there was more to give to business buddies.

And Funky, bless his pointed little head, actually said, "We're not plowing residential streets." That and the barefoot contessa insured he was a one-term mayor.

Sly's snow removal may not have been up to everyone's expectations, but then this event was one for the record books.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Who cares what they do in Lee Summit , we always have plowed sides streets until Mayor Rapper got in he is a disgrace to the job. Also Kansas City has a little more tax base to work with.

    ReplyDelete
  43. My street was always plowed under Kay and Funky sorry get your information right. Also its very easy to see there are very few contractors out there they always did the side streets. Of course we cant spend money on this and pay fpr Slys toy train. I am moving.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The dumb asses of Kansas City keep electing whoever the community leaders tell them to elect so suck it up folks and enjoy your snow covered streets.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I guess when the truth doesn't support your thesis, you get to make up your own.

No, folks, snow removal wasn't better under either Barnes or Funky. And it was absolutely deplorable under Meat Axe Funkhouser.

In fact, the blizzard in early February 2011 was still fresh in voters minds when they went to the polls later that month and made sure Funky didn't even make it out of the primary.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I work for the city. I had a city plow guy plow my drive, sidewalk and street. So go fuck yourselves you whiny pricks. It's gonna rain in April, so are you gonna blame the city that your umbrellas broke. Idiots!

    ReplyDelete
  47. 2:09- I don't care if you believe it or not. 20 of my neighbors saw it. They also saw what the City's snow plow did- and we're just as disgusted.

Funny how the only item you choose to pick on from the post is the number to the Action Center, which my phone atucorrected from 311. I guess it was the only thing that lent itself to snarky comments from an asshat apologist for a failed effort from a City Department.

And it's exactly the same attitudes from you and other posters that defend the failed snow removal efforts that disgusts the citizens of KC.

Hope you can get that next bond issue passed.

    ReplyDelete
  48. So when one lie fails, you tell another one and that makes the first lie believable?

Now you have 20 witnesses? Kinda wonder why they were watching you clear off hundreds of feet of sidewalk instead of doing it themselves.

So tell me, Mensa. How to you propose streets to be plowed if they can't push it off to the side of the street lest they hurt your tender widdle feeligs?

    Whine, whine, whine.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Is it me or do the Mayor's supporters seem really stressed.

Probably because this snowfall has pulled up their skirt regarding their "skills" that aren't really that impressive after all when compared with anybody but Funkhouser.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. LOL! His only supporters are the lower skilled hourly workers at City Hall and, of course, any white person who can stand to look at him and listen to his dribble before he writes a City check to them.

      Fuck Sly!

      Delete
  50. No, xalti, I guess I'm just fed up with ME, ME, ME whiners who bitch if their street wasn't plowed and bitch if their street was plowed.

I guess they threw a fit at Christmas if daddy didn't give them every toy they wanted, and have just continued that trend into "adulthood" if you can call it that.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I can at least agree with you that KC is full of complainers. There is no arguing with you about that fact.

    ReplyDelete
  52. 3:54- neither is a lie, dickhead. My neighbors were home because they couldn't get out of the neighborhood on the unplowed streets. And a gas powered snowblower makes just a bi of noise. They didn't stand around watching while I did the whole thing. They could hear what I was doing for 2 1/2 hours and could tell where I was from the sound.

If I was about me, me, me like you claim, why would I even bother to clear the sidewalk of others? I did it, and I did it to help my neighbors. Something KC could use more of.

In fact, maybe instead of playing Sherloch Holmes in front of your computer screen, you should get off your ass and go dig out some old folks in YOUR neighborhood.

Snow can be plowed to the curb without throwing it all over the sidewalks or onto people's houses. Why can't City snow plow drivers do as much?

A few years back, your esteemed snow plow drivers drove down Truman at 35 miles per hour hurtling huge chunks of ice 20-30 feet to either side of them, oblivious to the plate glass windows of the businesses there that they were breaking.

This is the type of action, and yours is the type of attitude, that the citizens of Kansas City have to put up with from many City employees. And you wonder why people always complain?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They don't get it. Save your breath. These people are just plain stupid.

      Delete
  53. No, I don't wonder why you complain. You complain because your a spoiled little boy.

By the way, you still want people to believe you ran your snowblower for 2 and a half hours?

And FYI, there are people who make up lies about helping their neighbors, and there are people who actually help their neighbors.

One way to tell the difference is that one group will brag about it. I leave it to you to tell which one.
