TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! BEHIND THE SCENES: KANSAS CITY GOP CONVENTION EFFORT IS PREDICATED ON NEW DOWNTOWN CONVENTION HOTEL!!!
This afternoon Helling has a tidbit about the adventures of GOP power broker lady Cathy Nugent.
Quietly, unofficially, KC group working on bid for GOP convention
It's titled "breaking news" which is weird because we wrote about it last Summer when we were considering the ascendancy of another GOP rising star . . . "Now that talk of a GOP convention possibly coming to Kansas City . . . The Republican spotlight will shine even brighter on Roe & Company."
Neverthless . . . Helling has a nice graphic . . . Which I subsequently stole in less than an hour . . . So we must bow down to his JOURNALISM SUPREMACY . . .
Even better . . .
TKC HAS ALSO TALKED TO ORGANIZERS OF THE KANSAS CITY GOP CONVENTION EFFORT IN 2016 AND THEIR PLAN IS BASED ON KANSAS CITY GETTING THAT HUGE 1K ROOM CONVENTION HOTEL FOR DOWNTOWN!!!
This is important because it reveals that it's not just Democrats who are capitalizing on Kansas City's fast and loose economic development policy.
Accordingly . . .
YOU D-BAGS TELL ME . . . SHOULD KANSAS CITY BUILD A 1K ROOM CONVENTION HOTEL FOR THE GOP?!?! BEHIND THE SCENES THAT'S THE PLAN ON THE TABLE!!!
Of course there's always the argument that Kansas City earns revenue from convention biz and I have no doubt the locals could make a buck from a big GOP visit if we all agree to shine shoes.
DEVELOPING . . .
Sly will get his hotel whether you like it or not TKC.
ReplyDeleteCathy Nugent makes 20 cents or more on every dollar she raises, so she does not care what she is raising money for as long as their is cash flow.
ReplyDeleteThe cunt is sloppy seconds.
Absolute fools give money to Cathy Nugent.
ReplyDeleteI'd buy that for a dollar!
ReplyDeleteThat fat fucking Roe, couldn't attract a Weight Watchers convention, even though he should try. If KC's hope for the Republicans rest with fat fuck, face it, there's just not much of a chance..
ReplyDeleteWatch and see. He is a better bet to get the convention than cathy. But if the gop is smart they'll.have it in miami again.
ReplyDeleteLet's honor the GOP/BUSH depression by hosting them here typical Kansas City Republican logic.
ReplyDeleteWhy the fuck is the 'Star' on the Missouri side of the fuckin' logo?
ReplyDeleteBecause the city of kansas city is in missouri. The mo and ks suburbs, including kck, have nothing to do with this convention or hotel. They are coming to the city, not the suburbs. This logo is awful.
DeleteWill it be a spam free zone?
ReplyDeleteThe gop bush depression! Hahahaha. This is obamas depression. He's been here over 4 years. He owns it. He is making it worse. Its time he took ownership. Im no bush fan but continuing to blame him is painfully transparent. Im a libertarian so both the dems and repubs play a part in this in my opinion but to STILL be blaming bush is laughable.
ReplyDeleteThe stock market is food stamps for the rich, so this hotel will be a motel eight for the rich.
ReplyDeleteThey will have the convention in a swing state where they have a chance to sway the vote. Missouri is no longer a purple state, so it's pretty doubtful EITHER party would have their convention here.
ReplyDeleteThere was no shortage of warnings that once Bush and his new world order got finished with us recovery would be impossible. Not only of our economy but of our reputation.
ReplyDeleteAnd obama hasnt damaged our world reputation? What planet are you on? He is destroying our economy as fast as he can. Inflation? Joblessness? Debt? High taxes? Expanding gov? Any of this his fault? Holy shit...
DeleteThis logo is ridiculously bad. Kill the bi-state cooperation idea. The central city is in mo. Thats where the conventions go. Downtown kc. Those conventioners wont even go to kansas.
ReplyDeleteMO is solidly republican. They will go to a swing state. They wont come here.
ReplyDeleteobama is a stupid nigger.
ReplyDeleteRemember when we built Kemper Arena for the 1976 GOP Convention? And then twenty years later we were like "Fuck this stupid thing."
ReplyDeleteThe GOP ain't coming to the per capita nigger murder capitol of the world. All the news would be about how it's the GOP's fault that all the niggers in KCMO are killing each other.
ReplyDeleteOf course we should build the 1,000 room hotel for the GOP. It will be the perfect compliment to the new arena we built a few years back for the NBA and NHL franchises that now play here.
ReplyDeleteTony's doing opp research for Sly et. al. again. Vetting the arguments and strength of those who will fight this.
ReplyDeleteI thought the GOP was supposed to be about fiscal restraint... Do you know the difference between a republican and a democrat? No, really, if you know the difference tell me. I can't see one.
ReplyDeleteI seriously doubt the GOP would stop off in KC to take a dump, let alone have a convention. Try the NAACP I hear they are trying to make a comeback!
ReplyDeleteNo Sir, I Don't Like It.
ReplyDeleteRight behind the streetcar in awful things that Sly is doing to ruin this City.
ReplyDeleteCathy needs money for herself. Every reporter who did a story on this should have asked Nugent: What is your commission percentage on the money your raise and all other compensation.
ReplyDeleteIt would have become clear what this is all about.
1,000 room hotel. No problem. 1,000 room taxpayer built and subsidized hotel. BIG problem. Especially if it's for the GOP, which is always about pulling yourself up by the bootstraps. Except of course when you need the government tpo rescue your bank, insurance company, bonus, etc.
ReplyDeleteIf these people want a hotel, let them build it. With their own money.
I find it all that the "small government" anti-spending GOP needs millions of dollars in subsidies to hold its own convention.
ReplyDeleteBut of course, "much" of that money will be raised "privately".
Sure.
And the tax revenue from the Power & Light District will pay for all the city subsidies of that boondoggle.
Your right 4:26, damn Dow Jones is at 14,054, 110 points below the record close it reached in October 2007, what kind of total economic collapse is this dumb ass president putting us through!
