KCTV5 broadcast Eric Chaloux's EPIC investigation last night . . . In case you missed it:
KCTV5 investigates bizarre water bills, questions bring about policy change
My favorite part was the pricey PR contract for the Water Dept. in the aftermath of even more FOREVER TAXES aimed at fixing this aspect of local infrastructure fail that's also on the hook for the federal mandate crushing Kansas City's budget.
Kansas City stays losing! And just look at who is at the helm. Anyone else surprised?
ReplyDeleteThanks Ch. 5. What is wrong with the internal systems in the Water Department that a TV station had to force a solution.
ReplyDeleteAs for PR at Water Dept. it is becoming a patronage operation from the Mayor's office as PR folks that worked on his campaign are getting no bid contracts. Star seems asleep on these things.
Water department job = patronage = not hired due to exhibiting any actual ability to do the work.
ReplyDeleteMy guess: 20% of the people at the Water Department are competent and do 80% of the work, which includes straightening out the mistakes the incompetent 80% make when they attempt to do their 20% of the work.
funny thing is... Melba Curls questioned the Water Department sometime back regarding bills to vacant lots and houses. They blew off her inquiry. Bastards think, and do, get by with anything.
ReplyDeleteOh I remember that! Well done 1059! It had to be back in 2009 or 2010 because it was before the fire department took over the ambulance service. I remember shaking my head over it!
ReplyDeleteSome nigger putting money into his/her pockets!
