FINALLY!!! MOVE TO DRUG TEST KANSAS POLITICOS ALONG WITH PO'FOLK!!!

Kansas.com reports A BIT OF COMMON SENSE IN THE WAR TO CRACK DOWN ON POOR PEOPLE and hopefully an effort to put invasive government into perspective for legislators as well: Drug testing of lawmakers added to Kansas bill

Money quote:

“What’s good for the goose is good for the gander,” said Wichita Democratic Sen. Oletha Faust-Goudeau, who opposed testing the poor and unemployed but wanted to include lawmakers if the idea were to pass."

  1. Why not test anyone who receives a public subsidy in the form of a tax break; including, the officers of companies that receive economic development "incentives?"

    The dole is the dole.

  3. Damn right, make the politicians take a drug test too. I know the image of the drug-using welfare recipient but I'm sure this waste of time and money program will cost significantely more than it saves by kicking people who fail off welfare.

    1. I spoke with somebody in the legislature who said there's about a 75% chance of this passing.

  5. I get drug tested at my job. I think the welfare mongers should be drug tested as well. This might encourage them to get off of their lazy asses and find a job when the get cut off from the free handout!

  6. This is way overdue. If someone, anyone, can put forth an arguement as to why its bad to make sure people who are getting government welfare money of any kind arent on illegal drugs is a bad idea then im all ears.... Im waiting.....

  8. It's a measure that certainly qualifies... most time its pretty clear that lawmakers share a lot in common with poor folk; they just conceal it better. Now, both will be made to pony up and get checked. Perfect!
