Once again let's lower our Kansas City and Jackson County political expectations.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS WARN US OF TALKS TO PULL A "SWITCHEROO" ON LOCAL VOTERS!!!

Here's how it might work . . .

JACKSON COUNTY LEGISLATOR THERESA GARZA RUIZ MIGHT MOVE TO TAKE OVER CINDY CIRCO'S UPCOMING COUNCIL VACANCY!!!

Yes, it might require a move but there's time . . .

And then . . .

CINDY CIRCO COULD STAY OUT OF THE NAIL SALON AND MOVE OVER TO A COUNTY LEGISLATOR GIG AND BIDE HER TIME UNTIL SOMETHING BETTER CAME ALONG!!!

The bonus in all of this is that it avoids a big fight, is rather low key and given Kansas City's turnout numbers . . . Most voters might not even notice.

Nevertheless, this is part of a disturbing trend.

Already, Council Lady Jan Marcason is on her way to anointing Jolie Justus as her successor. And this "Girl Power Switcheroo" between the Courthouse and City Hall once again reminds us that Kansas City Area voters are becoming increasingly irrelevant when it comes to determining the fate of local elected offices.
