Another controversy over a statue in Overland Park . . .
CHECK THIS POST FROM THE OVERLAND PARK POLICE CHIEF REGARDING A MYSTERY GORILLA STATUE THAT MYSTERIOUSLY APPEARED!!!
"Officers were dispatched in the early morning hours of January 5, 2013, regarding a strange visitor to the neighborhood just south of W 119th and Westgate. Upon arrival, they found a 300 pound cement gorilla next to the park gazebo. The gorilla was too heavy for officers to move, so a tow truck with a crane was ordered to remove the interloper. Officers checked with neighbors in the area and were unable to locate anyone who was missing a cement gorilla."
Honestly, this statue is much more interesting than (self)righteous indignation over fake nipples and I hope they find a place for it in the arboretum.
Sly staking a claim in OP?
ReplyDeleteWow...he's ambitious!
Immortalizing Sly James? Finally... LOLZ
ReplyDeleteUmmmm looks a lot like the one that use to be in the yard at 207th and Metcalf. Those people had one because it stood for Pittsburg State Gorillas where igues a kid or parent went to school.
ReplyDeleteMayor Silverback!!!
ReplyDeleteI know that Gorilla said: That's SNOWFLAKE from the Denver zoo in town for the holidays.
ReplyDeletePitt State fan joke.
ReplyDeleteThat is Sly's marker. Annexation is coming to JOCO!
ReplyDeleteDumb assed red necks!
ReplyDeleteThere used to be a local engineer and his buddies in Leawood that would drop this off at someones home as a prank. Usually when one of them and their families were out of town or right before a big family event. They would put it by the pool or in the front landscape bed or in the middle of the driveway - it was too heavy to easily move. Pretty funny - don't know if it is the same gorilla but makes sense that one of them finally got tired of it and 'gave' it to the public!
ReplyDeleteFace it, Coons. Mayor Sly looks for all the world, like a fucking gorilla and nothing you can do will change that fact!!! HA HA HA HA HA
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a statue of Kiki Curls!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, there's that too....
