This is the way local control ends . . .
Missouri Senate committee backs KC district takeover bill
A bit more perspective on this later but tonight this serves as an example that local control isn't always a viable solution.

Expect a lot of PSA type youtube videos (set to music) in support of letting the current board continue to govern KCPS.
ReplyDeleteAt least something is happening compared to the worthless failures for 40 years.
ReplyDeleteHurry it up please before every school is sold to Walmart.
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me there's going to be a whole lotta ladies walking around thinking Airick West has an interest in them-----just like they did this time last year when he was running his campaign.
ReplyDeleteGet ready for all the cute emails and texts from Airick, ladies. Yes, they are only to you. Just you. No one else. The more outspoken you are, the more he will schmooze YOU. Just YOU though. No one else.
The Kansas City experiment suggests that, indeed, educational problems can't be solved by throwing money at them, that the structural problems of our current educational system are far more important than a lack of material resources, and that the focus on desegregation diverted attention from the real problem, low achievement.
ReplyDeleteHint hint.
Cant wait for the community meetings. I wonder how many will come out against the takeover. I dont know of one parent in the district personally that would be against it.
ReplyDeleteHurry it the F up already before any more damage is done by these local schmoes.
ReplyDeleteJust more drama for KCPS. Can the students of this district get ANY peace at all? Just do the takeover and restore STABILITY. There is NONE in this district. Many of these students are already stressed by their home lives and their communities-it is an absolute injustice to them to allow the educational system to stress them also. Time for change. Been time.
ReplyDeleteGreat comment! Glad to see somebody really concerned with KC around here.
ReplyDeleteI gotta believe TKC's kick ass story on Gunnar Hand's High Times helped speed things up.
