Thanks to an AWESOME TKC TIPSTER for sending this link that puts Kansas City priorities (or lack thereof) in perspective . . .
24/7 Wall St.: Cities Paying The Most For Sports Teams
The listing notes the horrible record of the Royals and the broken promise that The Sprint Center would serve as home to a Downtown sports team . . . Meanwhile, Kansas City continues to pay top dollar for one losing season after the next.
At least we saved all that money on an offensive line for the past ten years!
ReplyDeleteFurthermore, we have a MAJOR LEAGUE baseball team to watch as close as St. Louis -- real baseball where everybody has to bat!
But KC is ranked higher for murders.
ReplyDeleteHow dare you broach the subject of Corporate Welfare for professional sports team owners! We have every right to screw the citizens of KC, extorting them to pay for our stadium, improvements, upkeep, defer taxes due, all the while shafting them on ticket prices, parking, refreshments, souvenirs, etc. They are ignorant suckers!
ReplyDeletePlease go back to talking about KC's murder rate, so we can go on picking your pocket.
Not only in the top 10 for providing taxpayer-provided corporate welfare to millionaire players and billionaire owners but surely in the bottom 10 for what these teams do -- or don't do, to be more precise -- on the field.
ReplyDeleteWay to go KC: WE'RE NUMBER 10, WE'RE NUMBER 10!
Correction: We are paying high prices, but damn sure not getting pro sports.
