TKC EXCLUSIVE AND THE SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! BOYCOTT THE CHIEFS GAME TOMORROW!!! KANSAS CITY FANS URGED TO AVOID ARROWHEAD IN SOLIDARITY WITH SO MANY LOCAL MURDERS AND TO PROTEST SHAMELESS FRONT OFFICE AND OWNERSHIP WHO SHOULD HAVE CANCELED THE GAME!!!

In a shameful display, the Kansas City Chiefs have failed to to cancel their upcoming game despite a workplace suicide connected to a local murder. This callous indifference reflects a misguided philosophy that prizes profit over people and not only demonstrates that the organization doesn't care about their workers but also fails to understand the impact of an ongoing homicide problem in Kansas City.

Long, long ago the Kansas City Chiefs represented a standard of excellence in our community and now the organization seems like nothing more than a callous money making machine given their uncaring reaction to tragedy within their own ranks.

THE FAILURE OF THE CHIEFS TO CANCEL THE GAME REVEALS THAT THEY HAVE SHIRKED THEIR CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY AND ONLY REALLY CARE ABOUT MONEY!!!

There's a lot of reasons the game needs to be canceled other than the fact that it would obviously be an appropriate sign of respect for the family of the murder victim and the Chiefs players who have lost one of their own.

Here are even more supporting arguments . . .

- Forcing players to participate is really an unfair work practice and all employees should be allowed time to grieve given a tragedy in their workplace.

- Neither team is in playoff contention, a cancellation would have zero impact on playoff standings.

- Canceling the game is the right thing to do.

Finally . . .

EARLIER THIS YEAR CHIEFS TACKLE ERIC WINSTON REMINDED US THAT FOOTBALL WAS NOT A "BLOOD SPORT" AND CALLED FOR A SENSE OF DECORUM AMONG FANS . . . NOW THE CHIEFS NEED TO RECOGNIZE THE IMPACT OF THIS TRAGEDY ON THEIR ORGANIZATION AND SHOW AT LEAST A SEMBLANCE OF DECENCY AND RESPECT FOR LIFE!!!

Furthermore . . .

THE CHIEFS COULD MAKE A POWERFUL STATEMENT BY CANCELING THE GAME AND NOTING THAT HOMICIDE AND VIOLENCE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PROBLEMS CONFRONTING KANSAS CITY RIGHT NOW!!!

Sadly, nobody has much faith in The Chiefs to do the right thing. And just to be clear, I'm not saying that watching this game on TV is a bad thing . . . I don't expect people to tune out this spectacle and a historic display of the Kansas City Chiefs betraying the principles of this city and their organization.

And so . . .

FANS ARE ENCOURAGED TO AVOID THE STADIUM AND TAILGATE PARTYING IN ORDER TO SHOW THE KIND OF RESPECT THAT THIS TRAGIC SITUATION DESERVES!!!

There is no arguing this point . . . Partying and enjoying a fun activity like watching a football game at the stadium isn't appropriate given a tragic loss of life affecting the members of the team. Showing up to this game is not "support" of the team. Attending the game is nothing more than complicity and enabling of an organization that has lost its way in every possible way.

And so . . . All of this has inspired tonight's playlist.

As always, thank you for reading this week and have a safe and fun weekend.

  3. Not that the Chiefs are worth a damn in the first place, or that I would waste a single thin dime on going to one of their games...but to say that they should cancel a scheduled NFL game because some overpaid player blasted his girlfriend and then offed himself is just stupid.

    Get a grip TKC.

  4. Boycott price chopper too.

    ReplyDelete
  5. This is not the Chiefs' call. NFL controls the schedule. Bigger issues here. Television and another team
(Carolina) are involved. Can't set precedent of cancelling for this. It is horrible situation, but if game was postponed, when would it be played?

    ReplyDelete
  6. As Mr. Anonymous just posted, the decision is not the Chiefs to make. Sometimes Tony just gets so excited he cannot see those little details, like facts.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Yes, multi-billionaire Clark Hunt is powerless. Poor guy.

    Go Chiefs!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Jesus Tony, chill out. You are way, way too radical.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I didn't plan on it but now I will go to Arrowhead and root on the home team.

    ReplyDelete
  10. This situation's different because it didn't occur privately in front of a home, but rather in front of the player's two bosses: Pioli and Crenell. Could you imagine getting up for another day of work and then suddenly your co-worker acts distraught and puts a gun to his head, subsequently blowing his brains out!?

Then on top of it, you are expected to go to work the next and act like nothing is wrong. WHAT A DESPICABLE AND SICKENING SOCIETY. MONEY ABOVE ALL.

MAYAN APOCALYPSE! IT'S NOT GOING TO END TOMORROW, BUT WE WILL ALL UNDERGO A CHANGE. APOCALYPSE = "REMOVING OF THE VEIL"

  11. Tony is right, except that the NFL needs to man up and postpone this game.

  12. He's a murderer WTF? cancel the game in his honor Bullshit ! Git agrip cocker !

  13. Duh, you're not honoring #59, but rather his wife and now orphaned baby along with the two witnesses who had to experience the whole ordeal, FUCKTARD.

  14. Seems she may have miscalculated that move to turn her Bo Frane into her Baby Daddy.
Looks like "Set for life" payed off rather a bit too quickly.

She would have been better off moving into the basement with Tony.

  17. I hear Carolina is utilizing the run and shoot offense tomorrow...

  18. This particular murder is only noteworthy by way of the Killer's participation on a local sports team.

It's grist for the media folks here on sports radio and local news shows. Ratings will go up, and because of the expected ratings increase, those same folks will be delving into "The Meaning" behind the event.

    Lemme clue ya in.

There ain't no fuckin meaning. A self absorbed, narcssistic whack job, killed his girlfriend because he was jealous.

You guys don't fuckin know him, or her, I don't either and this ain't the twin towers on 9/11. Get a fuckin grip.

Tony gets off early, by way of tying in a current event that touches on one of his recurring themes.

    It's 4:44 Tony.

Tony is the only media guy who gets off early this weekend. The rest of the folks will now delve into every aspect of Belcher's life, his girlfriend's life, the hopes, the dreams (Gonna be some music, maybe a favorite song etc.), the accomplishments, interviews with friends, family unitl we will think fuckin Jack Kennedy got whacked again.

Once again, there is NO special meaning to this.

I am sure his co workers are upset.

You on the other hand, DIDN'T ACTUALLY KNOW THE FUCKIN GUY.

Go have dinner, see a movie, there actually is nothing to see here.

  19. why honor a coward who couldn't make his point across without resorting to violence? He might have fathered a child but he was no father. The one who should be honored is the mother, a victim of a fucked up individual's inability to cope with life.

    ReplyDelete
  20. By the way, cancelling the Chiefs game is not really big news either.

I mean Jesus, if the fuckin Chiefs played a game in the forest, or, in Arrowhead, lost and no one saw it, did they actually play?

    ReplyDelete
  21. They played, therefore, they are losers.

    ReplyDelete
  22. He woulda been a good roomie!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Tony asking people to stay away from a Chief's game is about like Alonzo telling us the teen jitterbugs would make asses of themselves on the Plaza.

It would be the shits if both of them were right about something in the same decade!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't see any reason to cancel the game. People who commit suicide to avoid facing the consequences of their actions are not worth a moment of silence.

As for the greed thing, there are lots of people other than the owners and players who benefit financially from the game being played. None of the the aforementioned people who work on Sunday's while we sit on our couches are profiting from a murder, they are simply doing what they need to do to earn a living for their families which they have opted to care for instead of gun down.

As for the condition of the team, what difference does it make? It is not like they were going to win anyhow.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You are all misinformed morons.

From Deadspin: "After discussions between the league office, Head Coach Romeo Crennel and Chiefs team captains, the Chiefs advised the NFL that it will play tomorrow's game vs. the Carolina Panthers at its originally scheduled time."

What that means is the PLAYERS DECIDED TO PLAY!! IT WAS THE PLAYERS DECISION.

Not the NFL, or the front office.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't give a rat's ass that he committed suicide. He murdered an innocent woman and the mother of his three month old daughter. He's a murderer, not a victim.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Mr. Anonymous @5:47, if you believe that, I've got a bridge to sell you.
then again ,it doesn't say what you claimed it said anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Tony, you're just way over-confident about your influence in this town. You're pissing in the wind, bud, like Alonzo does. And looking like an idiot when you take yourself and your cause about black violence and other various boycotts so seriously. Just jumpin on the bandwagon on this one and it will take you noplace. They never work and people who call for them look like morons when they don't. You ain't a community activist! You're just a city hall blogger.

    ReplyDelete
  29. My well-liked coworker strokes out and died in front of all of us, management didn't even give 2 hours PTO to attend the funeral, that's Kansas City eh . . .

    ReplyDelete
  30. And a boycott benefits whom and how?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Chuck is absolutely right again. I am beginning to like this chuck guy he can sort the shit out.

Chuck calls a spade a spade. He does not call a nig a nig and still tells it like it is.

Uck the Chiefs...I aint goin simply cause 27.00 dollars is wrong on many levels when I pay taxes to support the rich owner, loser players and Kansas Jayhawk, right to work, Republican, Red Leg cocksuckers buying all the seats.

And still your tailgate up yore tail.

    ReplyDelete
  32. only a moron chili belly would suggest cancel a game which means the loss of paychecks for lots of people. Of course. Tony has no idea what a paycheck is...stupid mexican.

  33. Orphan of the Road12/1/12, 8:09 PM

If the NFL would not cancel games when the President of the United States is assassinated, why would anyone think they would cancel a game?

chuck, my first thought was of the opening scene in The Last Boy Scout.

  35. He also killed his baby-mama in front of her mom. A lot of people have seen horrific things today. I bet Pioli wishes he would just get fired already. It's gone very bad since he's been here, the fans hate him, and now he gets to relive this every day the rest of his life. Bet he can't wait to get the fuck out of here.
