Tonight we see that the story arc of the tragic tale of Javon Belcher killing his girlfriend and then shooting himself in front of Kansas City Chiefs witnesses is nearly complete.
What have we learned?
The impact of Kansas City homicide isn't something that resonates with so many white middle-class sports fans and our elected officials are more concerned about doing damage control for sports teams than addressing a long standing problem.
And then . . .
Serious talk about gun control and personal responsibility is ignored by reactionary and mostly racist augments who seemingly believe football partying should take precedence over a discussion of rampant gun violence that impacts Americans beyond in every demographic and briefly interrupted Sunday Football worship.
Finally . . .
The tragic subject of domestic violence is offered as a consideration to mostly clueless sports fans who really haven't shown much concern for anything but a losing franchise that never lives up to promises.
I was tempted to ignore the last topic as well but it seems that Javon Belcher had a history of violence that the Chiefs and their wretched fans are ignoring.
This is probably a Kansas City teaching moment and there are a great Kansas City lessons to be learned from this situation.
However . . .
WHAT KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FANS MIGHT CONSIDER IS THIS: IF A HOMICIDAL RAMPAGE AND EVERY ISSUE SURROUNDING THE TRAGEDY ARE SO EASILY DISMISSED BY THE CHIEFS AND THEIR FANS THEN IT STANDS TO REASON SEASON TICKET HOLDERS AREN'T REALLY A PRIORITY IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS!!!
While I don't believe in Karma . . . I'm certain that miserable Chiefs fans are more than deserving of the mediocre product they cherish more than life itself.

ReplyDeleteThis show IS finished, he's dead.
Next.
If we learned anything, it's don't cheat, pass out at the other girlfriend's neighbors, get caught and be a bitch about it...natch
ReplyDeleteagreed.
ReplyDeletePoor kid just had to much money and too much ass thrown at him.....I blame whitey for paying him too much. And that's the truth.truth.
ReplyDeleteWhat have we learned?
ReplyDeleteThat Tony is a whiney putz who loves to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
Thanks Tony. Gives us some stuff to think about.
ReplyDeleteIs it true he went to Arrowhead to kill Jamaal Charles?
ReplyDeleteI'm all for gun control. Take a deep breath and exhale before pulling the trigger.
ReplyDeleteGun control. Good people with guns don't kill people without provocation. Bad people kill with or without guns. A gun is an equalizer. A 98 pound woman can defend herself against a 300 man with proper training and the right equipment.
ReplyDeleteTony, you and I have met on a handful of occasions. In every case, I was carrying. I felt no reason to shoot you though we don't always agree. That is proper gun control.
That's a "history of violence?" C'mon, a drunk kid breaks a window? Happens every week at campuses everywhere. That's a stretch to say the least.
ReplyDeleteThe juxtaposition of the girlie photo and this particular story was tacky.

ReplyDeleteJavon was with some other than the mother punani in the P&L on Friday night. He got separated from her. Went to her apartment. She wasn't home. Some neighbors let him in to sleep it off. They allegedly knew him from previous visits to the strange he was hittin. He asked them to wake him at 6:30 so he would not miss a team meeting. Upon waking he went and confronted his baby mamma, whacked her on his way to the stadium.
Belcher is finally a "good NIGGER". Next?
ReplyDeleteThat would be THE DEAD NIGGER SOCIETY ?
