KANSAS CITY COUNTS 106 MURDERS FOR 2012 WITH ONLY ONE MORE DAY TO GO!!!

Even more bad news for tonight . . . Kansas City STAYS LOSING when it comes to significantly curbing the homicide rate.

Sadly, here's the latest example:

"On 12/30/2012 at just before 2 PM, officers were called to the 3800 block of Bales on a reported nature unknown, person possibly dead inside a car. When officers arrived they observed a man in his early 20's dead inside a car. It is being investigated as a homicide. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the TIPS Hotline."

Again, it's worth noting that Kansas City's political and civic elite have FAILED to even try to develop a comprehensive plan to curb the homicide rate while other cities have met with success on this front.

Last year Kansas City counted 114 murders and the year before there were 106 murders . . . Clearly, even the hint of progress has been hard fought but the numbers remain relatively stagnant with one more day left to go in 2012.

DEVELOPING . . .

  7. No question about it, we need to do something worthwhile to curb the violence in this city. Just because it hasn't visited your neighborhood today that should not exempt you from at least wanting to see these numbers go down.

This is unacceptable. This is one of the reasons why I'll be campaigning vigorously against any reelection bid from Sly James

(Google it.) The scum that isnt murdered spends their life in jail, unable to pass on their bad genes to unlucky offspring.

  12. Just wait for it everyone....Forte will be in the news next week taking all the credit for the reduction of homicides, even if we hit 113 this year. Aggravated assaults are up this year regardless of the propaganda put out by Forte. I think the real reason homicides are down in KC and are not higher each year is the medical staff at Truman Medical Center. The "Ghetto Fairy" walks the halls of the trauma area and saves more inner city trash than she should. That is the real reason why homicides are down.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Forte and KCPD are just praying the numbers are lower NOT due to police efforts but they hope they are lower so they can take credit for something, anything. BUT note they never take credit when crime rises, just when it goes down. KCPD is worthless.

  14. The Hotspots were only a PR thing just like the Footbeat project was and did not benefit the department at all. All the program did was give Forte a reason to get old crusty detectives and officers in non-patrol elements a reason to drive around and waste gas for 8-10 hours a night.

  19. Dear Mr. Tony: Thanks for posting this info. Another year with only limited progress in fighting crime--106 homicides in 2012, compared to 114 in 2011 and 106 in 2010. And, for those who say that nothing can be done to control violence, please note that NYC has just had in 2012 the lowest number of homicides since the city started keeping records--and
Wash/DC has just had the lowest number of homicides since the 1950's. KCMO's political class has only itself to blame for our city's crime disaster--if lack of gun control. youth demographics, the recession, etc. are not causing major homicide surges in NYC and DC there is no reason why we should have been having a homicide surge since the spring of 2008. Time for the city's politicos to do what the men of my Father's generation called "manning up"--face the reality and do what is necessary to end it. Take care. Sincerely and REspectfully, Ernest Evans

    ReplyDelete
  20. Dear Mr. Tony: Just checked the homicide totals for DC for 2012: 86 homicides as of today--this in a city with at least 50% greater population than KCMO. And, for all of the racists who read TKC and regularly say that black people are inherently criminal, please note that DC is 65% black. If DC can bring crime in its black neighborhoods under control, there is no reason KCMO cannot. Take care. Sincerely and REspectfully, Ernest Evans

  21. Well, there obviously ARE reasons... and apparently no one has looked into it, or at least publicized it.

Is it the cops? Numbers of black single parents? Schools? Churches? Gangs or lack of them? Educational level?

Mostly we talk out our asses... I'm surprised some sociologists havent done some serious work on this problem nationwide. Ya can't interview the dead, but ya can interview the living.

    ReplyDelete
  22. 7:48 That's the problem. They crank out kids starting at 14 or 15 so they do reproduce before death and/or prison.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ernest, I usually like your posts but you missed several important numbers. Washington DC has more officers per 1000 people than any other city in the country (6.56 per 1000 people) Kansas City isn't even in the top 50 cities in the country (2.92 per 1000 tax payer).

Washington DC also is only 63 square miles compared to Kansas Cities 316 square miles.

    So to simplify

DC 560000 people 63 miles and 3800 officers

    KC 463000 people 316 miles 1350 officers

How in the hell does this city thinks it deserves to be safer? Hire more police officers, and staff this city appropriately.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Once again an Epic KCPD failure.

    ReplyDelete
  25. How in the hell does this city thinks it deserves to be safer?

Well KCPD needs to keep it's promises for one.

Go back and watch the KCPD video produced by KCPD on why we should pass the public safety sales tax.

Now the citizens want the promises kept.

KCPD promised a safer city upon passage of the public safety sales tax.

OK KCPD now delver on the promise.

    ReplyDelete
  26. One last stat Washington DC has 8100 sworn Federal law enforcement officers assigned to that area. Fund the departments appropriately and you get safer cities...fact.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You are safer with the tax, without it the city would have less officers...dumb ass

    ReplyDelete
  28. More KCPD officers is not the solution! 10% of the population causes 90% of the calls for service. Do your fuckin jobs and crime will be reduced. KCPD are a bunch of lazy ass cops afraid of their own shadows.

    ReplyDelete
  29. In 1966, the murder clearance rate was 94% with 80% of the suspects known to the victim. By 1996, the clearance rate had dropped to 64% with 50% of suspects known to the victim. That rate continues to drop and KCPD has no clue how to solve many of the murders because so many were caused by suspects with little direct contact with the victim. This is why the murder of the jogger has gone unsolved or even the utility worker killed on New Years eve a decade ago near Westport. The only thing KCPD is capable of doing is writing speeding tickets. I say disband them and use the money to hire private security to protect our neighborhoods.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh by the way, once murder clearance rates drop to 33% and lower, murders will drastically rise all across this city. It will be out of control and life will have no value and thugs will have no reason to believe they will be caught.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Right, the fact that Washington DC has 12000 police officers in a city barely bigger than KC is ridiculous.

DC 16 cops per 1000 people
KC 2.92 cops per 1000 people

Even your KC education can understand that.

    ReplyDelete

  33. % of dead that were black? 85% Seems we know who the offenders and victims are and where they live so focus cops to arrest anyone who breaks a law in these areas. 0 tolerance!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. For those of you that have heated streets and leave your doors unlocked all the time in JoCo, the fact of the matter regarding crime in KCMO is that the Jackson County prosecutors office doesn't file charges on 75% of the cases presented against them. That includes, narcotics, stolen autos, burglaries, etc. Cops can arrest criminal after criminal and due to the prosecutors office most will be either given city tickets or released pending further investigation which essentially means that they wont be charged.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Why haven't they? List reasons. Or shut up.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 1125, large number of people being arrested pending state charges, space in jails, and also judges. Just look at the guy last year that was given probation for killing a guy who was trying to steal his go-kart. He shot him with an AK47 from a window and was given probation.

    ReplyDelete
  37. MO State Statute shows that possession of more than 35 grams of marijuana is a felony amount. Not in Jackson County. You can pretty much get caught with around 50 grams of marijuana and still get a city ticket. There is no deterrent. They are even issuing city stealing tickets for stolen cars now.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The number of cases that get forwarded to Jackson County is ridiculous. All three individuals responsible for incarceration have taken upon itself to deal with the over crowding issues.

First, the JACO warrant desk triage's cases like they are going out of style. They hand out SIS probations in order to get easy dispositions. The prosecutor staff ignores it because if they filed and tried every case each prosecutors dockets would explode.

Second, the judges try to reduce the number of occupied beds by handing out zero bond bails, and probations if they plead guilty, instead of going for quality incarceration cases. Just ask Bob Beard.

Last, it's almost impossible to get any offender's probation/parole revokes as Probation and Parole refuse to do their jobs. Terry Blair was on parole during his entire killing spree, even though he had failed urine drops, and violated dozens of his conditions.

If the issue is the courts then why dosen't the KCPD go nationwide public about it all. Make Sly and the rest of the slackers running the city and county step up and fix things

No it's really because KCPD is full of a bunch of worthless dipshits who could care less about anything other than getting a check come payday.

Finger pointers is all the little pussies are. If all this shit you KCPD babies cry about is true you could fix it but no lets whine and do nothing instead. Yup KCPD total failure just like Sly and the gang is. No fucking hero's in this town just a bunch of losers sucking on the taxpayer teet.

  41. The final comment here would be that NIGGERS are essentially, worthless and totally devoid of anything resembling human behavior. NIGGERS should be summarily rounded up and either destroyed or relocated to another country and/or world. They are cancers, preying on humanity and will continue to do so until they have been eradicated. 107 murders in KC this year, over 500 in Chicago...Hell, I rest my case.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Don't you just love how KCPD tries to blame the Mayor for being understaffed when KCPD reports to the State. Take your cry baby argument to the State if your so understaffed. KCPD won't because the BOPC already knows it's not a staffing issue. It's just laziness upon KCPD commanders.
