Early morning tragedy strikes Kansas City once again . . .
Check the headlines . . .
Woman Killed During Shootout
Woman shot outside Kansas City McDonald's
Woman shot, killed in back seat of car
Checking with KCPD Crime Stats this is (unofficially) homicide number 81 so far this year compared with 87 at this time last year. However the count matches our 2010 homicide number at this time.
This year there has been an increased effort to curb metro violence with hotspot policing and now the shot spotter tech . . . While the numbers are lower, most admit that there is more work to be done.
DEVELOPING . . .
I suspect that hamburgler.
ReplyDeleteTony, you're missing the bigger question.
ReplyDeleteWill Kansas City break 100 murders this year?
THAT will be the measure of true progress.
Actually the measure of even the beginning of progress will be some serious leadership from the leaders of the black community about working with the police to roll up some of these thugs instead of complaining aobut profiling and harrassment and all the rest.
ReplyDeleteAnd some guts and leadershp at city hall that makes safety in the ocmmunity a much higher priority than it is now.
The rest is just chasing numbers and, yes, KCMO will easily pass the 100 homicide mark this year.
Yes we will break 100. November is typically a very busy month for homicides.
ReplyDeleteserving up a whole lot of murders this year. Nope we don't want fries with taht.
ReplyDeleteGuessing they were black, of course. Nice to know they thought so little of the woman they didn't even drop her off at the hospital and drive away (which goes on a lot in this town and goes unreported). Guarantee all had warrants and that is part of the reason they just left her. The other part being they are gang-banging piece of shit thugs. We'll never hear about it but there is sure to be some street retribution to add to the shootings. Hopefully they all hit their targets so we don't have to pay for them in prison for the next 30 years.
ReplyDelete"Witnesses said a dark green pick up pulled up next to the woman's vehicle and one of the three men inside shot the woman. Police don't know whether she was the intended target."
ReplyDeleteIF you're at 31st & Van Brunt, you're a target regardless of intent.
The problem is everyone focuses on the number "100" (99 is okay?) or that "6 less than last year" is okay. Chief Forte touts success when there is a handful fewer homicides. 81 HOMICIDES IS UNACCEPTABLE! 71, 61, 51 HOMICIDES IS UNACCEPTABLE!!! Murders committed by blacks (the overwhelming majority) should be the main focus, yet it is the most overlooked issue in this city run by blacks.
ReplyDeleteHave it your way, have it your way...at McDonalds!
ReplyDeleteBlack on black crime must be really fine or the community would rise up with NON grifters, minstrels, buck dancers and white ass kissers all lookin for some action to stop this senseless killings and to educate our children.
ReplyDeleteIs there any ethical, honest, not given to lucre, proficient, committed hard working Black leadership in KC?
Welp another proven reason to not eat at McDonalds. If the shit they serve don't kill ya, the thugs who go there will.
ReplyDeletewhy didn that shot gun software work or not
ReplyDeleteThe much celebated Shot Spotter system is installed along the Troost MAX bus route because it was paid for from a transportation grant that went to the ATA. All the bad guys already know the locations, so only the truly amateur thugs will be shooting in that neck of the woods. Until all the sensors are shot out or left unmaintained, that is. And in KCMO, that won't take very long.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the NEXT program that will save the day without anyone local changing their behavior? Yes, the NoVa program imported from Cincinnati. Announced a few months ago and has already disappeared into the past.
