Okay, because TKC isn't on any PR Wagon . . . I think it's important to address a few questions about The Kansas City Renegades posed by Kansas City Insiders and more than a few regular readers.
For better or worse this team is raising a surprising amount of talk . . .
Here's what I know and open for your comment . . .
1. Are they really going to start playing in 2013?
Right now, as far as we know and having checked with a few Kansas City insiders.
2. How can this team make money if The Brigade wasn't able to make indoor football work?
Talking to the team's ownership, they hope there is a significant savings by putting the games in Kemper vs. the pricey Downtown Sprint Center. Also, indoor football doesn't carry the huge player salaries of other pro-leagues.
3. Is that Kansas City Political Consultant And Former State Rep. Candidate Chris Moreno Working For The Group?
Yes, yes it is . . . However, there are at least one other local PR consultant also working with the team.
4. What can you tell us about the league and experience they have in establishing a working pro-sports franchise?
The Champions Professional Indoor Football League is brand new . . . They haven't played their first game and just launched in August. Check the league website: CPIFL.org
TKC Real Talk: There is concern that this is all "smoke and mirrors" but then again every small sports franchise is based on a lot of salesmanship and attempts to "sell the sizzle" of a fledgling endeavor. In the end, we'll have to wait until the Spring to see if the league comes to fruition and the team can make their Kemper plan succeed. We're hoping they accomplish their goals because Kemper is one of Kansas City's most undervalued assets.
5. Are you working with the KC Renegades?
Nope. TKC isn't affiliated with the team in any way, I've just attended their pressers and taken A LOT of photos of cheerleaders. In fact, cheerleader investigation is a top priority for TKC. Natch.
DEVELOPING . . .
Walkin it back T? Good idea. The principals are trouble.
ReplyDelete7:57am is right. Any time you have a long list of "formers" involved with a new gig, you'd better grab your wallet.
ReplyDeleteIf the folks at 12th and Oak get stung by this crowd, they're even bigger pushovers than anyone thought.
Oh, the streetcar is free now?
Nevermind!
Where are the male cheerleaders? The LGBT community should be outraged, although from the looks of this bunch one of the "girls" is probably a tranny.
ReplyDeleteI hear the cheerleaders (borrowed from Budweiser) have been invited to the Greater Kansas City Women's Political Caucus Torch Dinner tonight just so the group has an outside chance of claiming to have 200 people in the hall tonight. That dinner used to attract 1200 attendees. I think it is safe to assume that the arena football team is heading down the same path.
ReplyDeleteThe Torch Dinner is a pathetic shadow of itself.
ReplyDeleteI doubt there will ever be a kick-off for the Renegades.
Don't they really mean cock-us? Isn't that what these lonely unattractive women really want? A man to make love to them, make them feel special in that womanly kind of way.
ReplyDeleteWe need to know if they will have better looking cheerleaders than the ones presented so far.
ReplyDeleteJeremy Pleoger is a front man for crooks like Calvin Willaford and now he has hired another scum-bage to shill for him, Chris Moreno.
ReplyDeleteMr. Tony,
ReplyDeleteThis won't work. No real money, no contract, no players and that freaking Moreno is in the deal.
Sorry Mr. Tony, smells like a bad deal. Even the lady cheerleaders don't care enough to wear matching shoes.
No contract between Kemper and The Renegades? You should fact check that Tony.
ReplyDeleteMoreno is loser who brings bad things to any deal

ReplyDeleteThere is an election for President correct? So why are these political "insiders" attacking a sports franchise? Good for the Renegades. I hope they succeed. Kemper Arena needs it.
ReplyDeleteKemper Arena also needs about $40,000.00 spent on it to fix plumbing, electrical and lighting problems not to mention a good cleaning. Who's gonna pay for that?
ReplyDeleteWhat "PR" agency? Same one that reps Totally Nude and Luna?
ReplyDeleteSeems to be working for Sioux City & Omaha, no reason to doubt why it wouldn't in Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteKemper arena needs a wrecking ball. My guess is that Chris Moreno is behind the recent car burglaries down there and he wants to bring fresh pickings to the parking lot.
ReplyDeleteTo me this post looks like nothing more than an attempt to drag this new football club into the usual partisan BS filling kansas city politics today.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Kemper and Kansas City need affordable sports entertainment.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I can park my car and have it broken into!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the tipsters should step forward and help bring revenue to Kemper Arena and the area?
