Skulking around Westport this afternoon and thinking about buying a slice of pizza when I noticed a poscript regarding (a tiny fraction of) Kansas City passing Mayor Sly's taxes during the primary.
Take a look at an illegal sign on Southwest Trafficway gloating over Mayor Sly's victory this week.
Sure the piece of political propaganda was polite . . . But remember before the All-Star Game . . . Kansas City passed an ordinance to get rid of the "junk signs" that were used to promote the Mayor's Tax all over the city and in the public right of ways. I guess nobody likes competition in this town.
Anyhoo . . . It's a good sign of the times for this week as traffic moved past an nobody seemed to look or care about yet another sign of Kansas City political hypocrisy.
I thought Tracy Ward put that up thanking Sly for the red light cameras!
ReplyDeleteLOL @ both of you!
ReplyDeleteWhat's illegal about this sign? It doesn't appear to be in a public right of way.
ReplyDeleteNo cameras in that area eh? Must be nice. Unlike the areas I venture through daily.
ReplyDeletePizza? Tony you need to get out of the damn house more often. Go try Fuud over there in your hood on West 17 Street.
ReplyDeleteTop Notch!
Thank You KC for letting us ream ur' butts instead of negotiating a reasonable and fair settlement with the EPA because of all the neglect and violations that piled up for five years during the Barnes Administration!
ReplyDeleteKC got the most generous terms and the longest time to make repairs (25 years) than any other City in the country. Still takes money to comply.
DeleteThat sign is legal. It's on private property.
ReplyDeleteYeah other peoples money.
ReplyDeleteIllegal sign, take it down.
ReplyDelete9:02, how is it illegal?
ReplyDeleteSign on private property makes it illegal
ReplyDelete10:55, signs on private property are LEGAL jackass.
ReplyDeleteElection is over. Sly won. Deal with it.
ReplyDeleteMike Gray needs to get his underemployed ass out and pick up these signs.
ReplyDeleteIt's not in the public Right of Way jackass. Not illegal. Or undocumented.
ReplyDeletePut that sign in a time capsule for future generations to savor.
ReplyDeleteFuture generations will look back on that sign and say that is why all the people with enough money to move left the city. They may pass it but they won't want to pay it. Voters need to wake up and look past the hype. Barnes did not cause this, it goes much further back to all the corporate welfare every Mayor gave to big contributors. Need I state the obvious? They were all (except one) Democrats who hate the rich unless they are handing them checks in return for TIF. WE paid their payback instead of fixing failing infrastructure and now we are handing them money to keep the contributors writing more checks. That's the bottom line.
