Here's a Kansas City media FACT that was determined recently . . .
KANSAS CITY HATES THE D-BAG BEHIND THE "BLABBERMOUTH" WEBSITE THAT WANTED TO CHARGE TO REMOVE THE PUBLISHING AND DISSEMINATION OF PUBLIC ARREST RECORDS!!!
I wasn't really impressed with the biz model or the gimmicky incorporation of Google Maps that was seemingly a homage to 2009. The mugshot online game isn't new and probably one of the most low-rent website ploys around . . . The spin about disseminating the info seemed more like an empty threat which the dude backed off of quickly.
But the mainstream media and the public pushed back HARD yesterday.
Bottom Line chronicled the KMBZ news interview that turned into a public flogging.
Church of Lazlo enjoyed a HUGE response railing against the dude . . .
And basically the mainstream and the online world piled on the dude with a crappy biz idea . . .
THE REACTION TO BLABBERMOUTH WAS SO BAD THAT THE DUDE'S HOME ADDRESS WAS PUT ON BLAST ALONG WITH A BUNCH OF TYPICALLY NASTY ONLINE THREATS!!!
Obviously debating ethics on the Internets is useless . . . HOWEVER, this entire hot mess simply confirms TKC's contention that there is no simple or sustainable independent online publishing profit model for so many online d-bags who mistakenly believe they're clever.
Next to blackmail. Hope this fucker thinks about his new biz or gets a slap to the head.
ReplyDeleteI bet ya anything most geeky "techno web 2.0 entrepreneur's" are thinking - wow what a great idea why didn't I think of that!!!! Now that's monetizing dude gimme a beer dude!
ReplyDeleteI think he took it down now.
ReplyDeleteIt was just plain mean.
ReplyDeleteFox 4 . . "In the age of the Internet, one mistake can live with you forever.
ReplyDeleteThat may now be especially true for people who live in Johnson County thanks to a new local website."
So much for Fox 4's credibility while we are on the subject.
So Tony doesn't likew the site? That means it must be good and will make the guy a TON of money.

ReplyDeleteWho cares? If people are dumb enough to pay some jerk for posting what is already public information then too bad for them. The novelty of this will wear off quickly when the guy gets tired of not getting paid. Best to ignore him. I checked out the site and it's boring.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that this cockroach lives on Noble street.
ReplyDeleteCriminals are generally pretty stiupid, but not stupid enough to pay this clown.
ReplyDeleteThe site is still up but it's a mess. When you click on a mugshot, it takes you to the mugshot and charges of someone else entirely. So basically it's worthless.
