TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! TRAGIC KANSAS CITY CATHOLIC PRIEST RECYCLING!!!

A local victim's rights group seems to claim that The Catholic Church hasn't really learned anything despite the recent hot mess . . .

Take a look:

Accused KC priest is put back in parish, SNAP responds

For immediate release: Thursday, May 31

Statement by Barbara Dorris of St. Louis, Outreach Director of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAPdorris@gmail.com)

A long time KC diocesan insider, Msgr. Robert Murphy, is going back into parish ministry full time. It’s an irresponsible and hurtful move by Bishop Finn that shows he still cares more about his guilty priests than his innocent flock.

Murphy stands accused of sexually assaulting a young adult seminarian. And no one disputes the fact that for at least five months, Murphy refused to call police about hundreds of inappropriate and illegal sexual photos of young Catholic girls taken by Fr. Shawn Ratigan.

We see no evidence that Finn really tried to substantiate Brian Heydon’s abuse report years ago or recently. But it’s not too late to make a real effort. We call on Finn to use his bully pulpit, diocesan website, dozens of parish bulletins, hundreds of parish staff and thousands of church members to ask a simple but crucial question: “Have you ever seen, suffered or suspected sexual misconduct by Msgr. Murphy? If so, you have a civil and Christian duty to speak up now so that others might be protected.”

(SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, is the world’s oldest and largest support group for clergy abuse victims. SNAP was founded in 1988 and has more than 12,000 members. Despite the word “priest” in our title, we have members who were molested by religious figures of all denominations, including nuns, rabbis, bishops, and Protestant ministers and increasingly, victims who were assaulted in a wide range of institutional settings like summer camps, athletic programs, Boy Scouts, etc. Our website is SNAPnetwork.org)

  1. What? Someone expects Finn to do the right thing? There's no way because this crooked collar-wearing piece of crap doesn't know or care what the right thing is.

Here's hoping Jax Co prosecutors are a little more on their game with this case and Finn gets convicted. If not, we can always hope he gets his one-way ticket to Hades punched very soon.

  2. Doesn't this break his agreement with the county?

  3. What can I say??? He likes little boy ass!

  4. 1:04, Finn is a contemptible poor excuse of a human being who broke his agreement with God and with members of his faith? Why would he keep an agreement with the County? The man is amoral.

  5. In Milwaukee, documents released during bankruptcy proceedings showed that pedofile priests were paid to leave the priesthood. A cash bonus for buggering little boys. Docs show this went on for 30 plus years.
$30,000.00 in 1981 dollars is equivelent to what in 2012? Maybe the LDS church could baptize some of these guys for their planet Krilion?

  6. Remember, you don't need birth control with little boys!

  7. Think Finn and Murphy will be able to make the gay pride rally at the P&L?

  8. $83,768.81 is good green just for ass raping a few little boys! CPI from 1981 to 2012.

  9. 1:32, you are a big fat liar. Cardinal Dolan said it was only 20k, not $30,000. Hope that settles that!

  10. Cardinal Dolan is the head of the US Conference of Bishops, the highest ranking Catholic in the United States. He was the Bishop of Milwaukee when these payoffs were going on, he had to approve each and every one of them. He's now the Cardinal of NYC. A lot more little boys in the 5 burroughs than in Milwaukee, right?

  11. Here's a clue for the uninformed who tend to believe everything SNAP says.

Msgr. Murphy isn't "going back" to parish ministry. He's been the pastor of St. Bridget in Pleasant Hill for quite some time, and even during the whole Ratigan mess when he also served as vicar general.

So this isn't a new assignment for him.

  12. If this isn't "news," why was it just announced in the most recent edition of KC's local Catholic newspaper?

  13. >>1:32, you are a big fat liar. Cardinal Dolan said it was only 20k, not $30,000. Hope that settles that!<<<

Here is where this embarrassing fact comes from.
In Milwaukee Post, Cardinal Authorized Paying Abusers

"Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan of New York authorized payments of as much as $20,000 to sexually abusive priests as an incentive for them to agree to dismissal from the priesthood when he was the archbishop of Milwaukee."
Questioned at the time about the news that one particularly notorious pedophile cleric had been given a “payoff” to leave the priesthood, Cardinal Dolan, then the archbishop, responded that such an inference was “false, preposterous and unjust.” "

As this post Pedophiles Paid to Leave Quietly states:

"I do not know if diocesan priests who leave to marry receive or received similar payments, or if this is a special bonus to get pedophiles to go without a fight. The Times article says payouts to dismissed priests are not uncommon. But pedophiles??

Here again–where’s the outrage? What would it take for a bishop to say to a priest: “This is outrageous, evil, deeply harmful behavior that will not be tolerated. Get out, and if you try to fight laicization, fine, we’ll fight. But we won’t pay you to leave. In addition to the harm you caused to your victim(s), you have violated the trust we placed in you, on which grounds your employment and benefits were based. Besides, you won’t need much money in prison.”? Is there a sliding scale? How much would a priest be paid off for murder?(Tone! Regrets for snideness.)

SNAP really said it best: “In what other occupation, especially one working with families and operating schools and youth programs, is an employee given a cash bonus for raping and sexually assaulting children?”"

The church needs more money now. Some from it's faithful flock, and more from the taxpayers.

  14. I just read on CNN where The Vatican issued a formal degree against American Nuns criticizing them for concerning themselves too much with social justice & not speaking out enough against gay marriage. Hypocrites!

  15. “This is worse than the Church paedophilia scandal”

"The atmosphere is poisonous, heavy. Some claim that in the future we won’t be able to take mobile phones with inbuilt cameras into the Vatican.” The ban on camera phones is just a rumour that has been circulating around the Secretariat of State in the last few days, which have been the most difficult in the Vatican in recent years. “Somehow this is even worse than the storm caused by the Church paedophilia scandal,” said a priest who entered the great gate of Porta Angelica with brisk fearful steps."

  16. 4:14, it's not "news" that Msgr. Murphy is pastor of St. Bridget in Pleasant Hill, which is what got SNAP's panties in a wad.

He's been pastor of St. Bridget for about five years now, and is still pastor of St. Bridget.

What was announced in the diocesan newspaper is that Murphy is no longer vicar general of the diocese, and that Msgr. Bradley Offutt is.

  17. The trial against the Philadelphia diocese is further along than here, although it's much the same. A priest quoted the clergy in charge of investigating pediophile saying; "we don't have the legal requirement to notify police (of pediophile rapist priests). The lawyers told me so."
The Catholic church is so corrupt, and has been for centuries, I don't know how it is still standing. Anyone remember Cesare Borgia, the bastard son of a Pope, who also became Pope? He decreed the rich could leave substantial parts of their estate to him, and he would pray them directly to heaven. They wouldn't have to spend time in Purgatory. The act led directly to the Protestant Reformation. Recently, it was found that the Sicilian mobster who murdered a judge was buried in the Papal crypt. The Papal hierarchy is slime.

  18. As you know, and as I have mentioned several times, I have lost all respect for the Catholic Church. And Finn is a rookie stooge.

  19. Bishop Finn is a man of God. You will all burn in Hell with no hope of redemption.

  20. 11:09, you are as full of shit as Finn if you believe your comment. Finn is evil trash, scum, and hopefully he'll descend into Hell very soon.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 11:09 That's probably just what the pervert priests used to tell their victims would happen if they told anyone.

Why cover up and pay off perverts and rapists???

  22. Report from the Philadelphia trial: Closing Arguments in the Archdiocese Sex Abuse Case: Quotes From Shakespeare, Martin Luther King, and A Love Letter From A Pedophile Priest

"A defense lawyer quoted Shakespeare and Twelve Angry Men as he talked to the jury about reasonable doubt. A prosecutor read a pornographic love note that a priest had written to a seventh-grader, and then he showed jurors a smiling, baby-faced photo of a 10-year-old altar boy before he was raped."

    The charges:

Msgr. Lynn is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, and conspiracy to endanger the welfare of a child. Father James J. Brennan is charged with the attempted rape of a 14-year-old, and endangering the welfare of a child. A third defendant, Father Edward V. Avery, has already pleaded guilty to involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a 10-year-old, endangering the welfare of a child, and conspiracy to endanger the welfare of a child."

One victim was a boy; and a priest writes a love letter:

"The prosecutor talked about the 10-year-old altar boy who had been raped by Father Avery, a crime that the priest has already pleaded guilty to. But Blessington told the jury he didn't want them to think of the victim as the handsome young man in his 20s who had testified in the courtroom, he wanted them to remember what the victim looked like at the time of the crime. And then he flashed the picture of a smiling 10-year-old altar boy.

The prosecutor also read a letter Father Michael Murtha had sent to a seventh-grade boy, a letter that was sure to induce nausea in any parent, uncle, aunt or grandparent on the jury.

"You are so cute ... would you like it if I sucked your dick? I bet you would," Father Murtha wrote. The priest told the seventh grader he wanted to kiss his nipples, and that he got hot thinking about the boy's father spanking the boy's "cute ass." If the seventh-grader wanted to take the priest up on his offer of fellatio, the priest wrote, the boy should leave a letter behind the bulletin board where the parish school advertised the student of the week.
The letter, described as a fantasy never sent, was signed, your "secret lover."

"Isn't that letter the most sick, depraved thing you've ever seen?" the prosecutor raged.
