Take a look at the latest Week In Review Youtube clip . . .
KCPT - Kansas City Week in Review: January 27, 2012
The discussion starts with Red Light Cameras and then moves to Street cars State Politics and even the School Board . . .
KCPT WIR Host once again puts together Kansas City's most important discussion wherein every so often the reporters from The Star let somebody else talk.
Their take on Red Light cameras is actually pretty interesting.
ReplyDeleteIn addition, they refute TKC's knee jerk take on the "Toy Train".
It has to do with Federal Dollars being made available, which in turn would bring 25 million to the city, but there is a new deadline, hence, all the activity.
$25 million is only one quarter of the cost of BUILDING the line. If this happens, we will quickly find that the little area of KCMO which will have to bear the tax to operate it will come up with far too little money and the difference will come from the general fund.
ReplyDeleteWith the P&L District subsidy of $12 million/year, pretty soon most of the general fund will be spent for downtown entertainment.
Hope your water pipes don't break and your streets don't get potholes, and it doesn't snow.
A city that works. But not for you.
So 25 million available now for a starter line... and a lifetime of financial drain on the city.
ReplyDeleteReal genius move this would be.
Question:
ReplyDeleteWhen water from a borken pipe cascades onto the third rail of the $1000 million streetcar system, will all the tourists be electrocuted, or will it just stop for a couple weeks.
Should the Convention and Visitors' Bureau warn them?

ReplyDeleteThey didn't say that on TV. The comments were about using the Fed Money, but I didn't get that anything else was being spent.
I am not being a smartass, thats just what I understood.
By the way, I am fully cognizant and in agreement with you guys concerning the infrastructure here in this city.
ReplyDeleteKCWIR is stupid. It's nothing more than idiots discussing problems caused by idiots elected mostly by idiots that DIDN'T vote.
ReplyDeleteAs though this were any better, idiots arguing with dimwits about stuff posted by a pathological liar.
ReplyDeleteThe show was Brownback bashing to all their shame with no rebuttals.
ReplyDeleteIllegal families won't go hungry there are food pantries, true? Anyone can also double dip, getting both food stamps and doing pantry hopping, true? Brownback is correct to cut funds...no one will go hungry but the tax payers won't pay the bill.
"Toy Train" is the camels nose under the tent and is part of New World Order global plan, listen to Obama et al...say NO loud and clear, "Go to the mattresses!"
Show was totally unbalanced and hardly fit to watch unless you like lefties on parade.
They talked about Brownback voting with and helping Ted Kennedy to pass legislation.
ReplyDeleteThey talked about Brownback being ok with the DREAM ACT and his soft stance on Illegals.
Really.
Listen to it.
They didn't bash Brownback at all.

" every so often the reporters from The Star let somebody else talk."
ReplyDeleteHey, that's more than that asshole Abouhalkah does on Midwest Voices. No opposition is ever allowed to his flatulent nonsense there. Speak up and you're blocked for good.
Helling is a serious well-informed journalist.
ReplyDeleteShelly is experienced enough to know what she doesn't know.
Kraske is a teit who doesn't know much of anything except for politics and campaigns and shouldn't comment on serious issues.
Hernandez has already confused celebrity with reporting and apparently thinks he is one.
Helling is a self-important fat-ass prick with zero ethics. The guy simply cannot be trusted. And why doesn't he shave before going on the show? He has a five o'clock shadow at ten am. Go meet a laser or an electrologist Dave. You won't look so much like the bum you are.
