TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! INDEPENDENT OPPOSITION ORGANIZES AGAINST A STATE TAKEOVER OF KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS!!!
We've heard from some of the most elite members of The African-American Community organizing in the event a state takeover . . . And hoping to have themselves installed as newly appointed leaders.
This afternoon at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum there was another, smaller and independent gathering of Eastside residents who not only opposed a possible takeover of by Missouri Education Officials but also urged more accountability from the current School Board.
Trichelle King, a contributing writer at The Missouri State Post, called a press conference this afternoon in order to organize, plan and call more attention to Eastside sentiment during this critical week for Kansas City Public Schools.
"This entire community is coming together and saying that we're not happy with the way things are going but we don't believe a State Takeover is the solution," Ms. King said. "At this point we haven't seen a comprehensive plan for the education of our students."
The small group spent time talking about the history of failure in Kansas City's School District and also spoke of cooperating with other groups who want to preserve local control of Kansas City Schools. Ms. King (seen here talking with Maurice Copeland) and the group hope to devise a petition against State control which might also advocate smaller classrooms, measures for greater accountability from the current School Board and new strategies to address at-risk youth.
A few TV stations were slated to cover the small press conference but skipped out . . . What they missed was a really interesting look at one of the many small pockets of extremely motivated community members who are concerned about the future of Kansas City Schools.
DEVELOPING . . .
Good for them.
ReplyDeleteThat won't be confused for the local MENSA club.
ReplyDeleteWonder why local TV media "skipped out"?
ReplyDeleteMaybe cause no one was there?
They should be glad if the state takes over.
ReplyDelete"New strategies to address at-risk youth"
ReplyDeleteLet's start with some parental supervision and basic responsibility. When we have those down cold, we can add some more.
Dissolve the district and at least try to save the next generation. You've already lost too many as it is, and many of them are roaming the streets killing people.
Roody Poos are stupid and just have their hand out lookin fo sumthing fo free! Give me MONEY and title.
ReplyDeleteJust freaking do something to keep those thugs out of the surrounding districts. Geezzzz
ReplyDeleteBlack elite? By whose standard? White people are really put of touch with who's who in the Black community!!! None of those folks are worth the time ot takes to type our their names! Get a clue, buy a vowel but please stop falsely indicating that these are folks that represent the Black community. They are one thing...self-serving, self-appointed creeps who have only 10 more years of useful life. It's a power grab and little else.

ReplyDeleteToo little too late. Blacks have controlled the district for years and it continues its steady and rapid decline. Maybe the state can fix it. They can't be any worse than what we have now.
