KANSAS CITY MURDER RATE STANDS AT 106!!! MAYOR SLY JAMES ADMINISTRATION FAILS TO MAKE EARLY PROGRESS!!!
Tonight we know one indisputable fact about Kansas City: There has been no progress in fighting homicides during the early months of The Mayor Sly James Administration.
KCPD Crime Stats reveal that this cowtown has equaled the number of people murdered in Kansas City last year.
There are a lot of places to lay blame but, like it or not, the buck stops with Mayor Sly James. To argue otherwise is to deny accountability for this town's top politico.
There have been some noteworthy efforts in the fight against murder on Kansas City Streets including a gun bounty program launched by a few members of the City Council and the "Hot Spot" strategy touted by the new KCPD Police Chief.
So far, nothing has immediately fixed the problem of increasing local homicides.
I don't pretend to have the answer on this one . . . However, I have a keen insight into what hasn't worked so far and there's no empirical evidence to suggest that anybody in Kansas City has found a solution to an inordinate amount of violence and death on local streets.

James can't fix the murder rate and you know it. What did you think, a bunch of murdering hoodlums were going to turn over a new leaf because KC now has a black mayor- or a black police chief?
ReplyDeleteThe prob is the ghetto culture. If Sly and Daryl hadn't distanced themselves from THAT- they'd never have been the Mayor and Police Chief.
Killers keep on killing until they get locked up or suck a bullet themselves, the latter being the more sure and fiscally-sound solution.
christ..your a dumb sumbitch
ReplyDeleteOfficals have taken anuymber of steps in the right direction, with the latest being community prosecutors being assigned to neighborhoods. There are lots of hands reaching out to help residents of the east side.
ReplyDeleteWhat's missing is any serious leadership encouraging people to reach back. The self-appointed "leaders" of the black community have ridden the old civil rights victimization and blame train so long, when things finally change, they have no idea what to do or say.
Either the neighborhoods will begin carrying some weight for their own safety and work with the PD, or the violence will continue and so will the emptying out of the east side.
There's never been an opportunity like there is right now to try to save the community.
So where are all the usual suspects who've had so much blame to spread around in the past?
Deathly silence!
I dislike sly James but I agree with previous posts. There's nothing James can do about crime. Blame lies with the black community and their misguided priorities. I guarantee you somewhere in the ghetto there is a group of brothers bragging about the high murder rate.
ReplyDeleteI blame Tony.
ReplyDeleteSly is too busy forming committees, ignoring infrastructure, and trampling on the city charter as far as residency requirements.
ReplyDelete622 Very accurate assement. This mess took a couple of generations to develop. The gangsters are a lost cause. One more symptom of a nation in DECLINE.
ReplyDeleteAgain more stupid comments from ignorant people! KC needs jobs in the inner city and a school system that can teach! Start there and see how much that will make a difference! Sly and the others we elect should be doing everything i n their power to bring jobs here now! KL

ReplyDelete7:10 said it exactly right.
ReplyDeleteUntil the good people on the east side rise up and say 'enough', the slaughter will continue.
No one can do it for them.
08:50 sees the world as being a matter of "gimmie gimmie."
ReplyDeleteThere's not time for that now.
Your people have chosen a death worshipping ghetto thug culture and now there is nothing left to do but KEEP THEM FROM THE REST OF US.
Save yourself if you've got the brains, your people have chosen their fate and it has NOTHING to do with whitey anymore.
@8:59 Apparently you haven't drove around Johnson County or Blue Springs/Lee Summit very much. For every black "thug" you can show me I can show you a white "thug". The "ghetto culture" as you say is everywhere. With that said, the most dangerous person in this city right now is a kid 18-21 with no job, a poor education, and no future! Put people to work and give them better education and you will see the difference! Until then, "whitey" is doing nothing but continuing segregation through class warfare.
ReplyDeleteOnly an idiot would think a politician could stop crimes of any kind. The Mayor, Governor, Congress and even the President can only pass laws and as I said before, laws are for the law abiding.
ReplyDeleteLucius, you're living in a dream world. If politicians aren't held accountable for what happens during their tenure then there won't ever be any change. We need to hold Sly accountable for this and if he doesn't do something significant then maybe we should elect someone who will.
ReplyDeleteIf you do things your way Lucius, nothing gets done. And that's how it has been so far.
10:54 - What would YOU have the mayor do?
ReplyDeleteIt takes no talent to gripe but let's go a little further and hear YOUR solution to the problem other than 'let the mayor do it'.
@KL
ReplyDeleteGovernment doesn't create jobs and doesn't build commercial buildings, at least not very well. And what private investor is going to start a business on the east side where countless robberies, break-ins, and homicides happen every day. I somehow doubt you'd wantyour family to work there and neither would anyone else.
The school district has been run for decades by black people who were way more interested in employing their families and friends and wasting millions of dollars on "contractors" that didn't have to do much of anything for the money.
And you're still stuck in the blame game of pointing fingers at everyone except the folks who've made the mess.
Citadel Plaza anyone?
6:22 is spot on and nothing else needs to be said.
ReplyDelete4:06 I would scream for local control of the KCPD. Then I would reasign every traffic cop, red light reviewer, PR flack and desk jockey to patrol duty. There would be cops on every corner until the thugs got the message. The KCPD would be allowed to do auto chases. Cut out the horsey unit, get rid of most of the dogs. Then I would have someone review all criminal cases and hold the prosecuters office accountable. I would increase the number of years necessary for retirement and use those funds to add officers.
ReplyDeleteBut a 1,000 room hotel is much more important to the current mayor than the number of murders.
Too many Cops sitting at desk jobs at Headquarters.
ReplyDeletePeople are not being killed over lack of jobs, poverty or some mysterious malady that the mayor or cops can fix. It's the CULTURE idiot.
ReplyDeletePeople kill for money & sell drugs for money, because it takes money to live. If you don't help them find jobs, do you think they will just quietly starve to death?
ReplyDeleteYour right Bryon.
ReplyDeleteIt was the number one cause for the Arab Spring. Look at Spain 24 percent unemployment among youth. Portugal is the same. Greece faces high unemployment and its causes havoc in Europe.
7:23am--
ReplyDelete1. What would local control accomplish (besides corruption on the city council's part)?
2. Allow car chases--I totally agree. The public seems to forget that some of the worst criminals involved in the homicides/shootings/etc are the ones who are running from the police.
3. Get rid of the dogs? I don't think you fully understand their purpose. Their sense of smell far exceeds humans (allowing the handler to track down hiding criminals) and they are often deployed in situations that would otherwise be very dangerous for an officer.
4. Hold prosecutors accountable--might as well add judges to that statement (ie. Getting probation for Murder which occurred recently in Jackson County).
5. Increase the numbers of years necessary for retirement? You do realize retirement is granted in a formula after an officer is vested (ie. They don't get a full retirement after say only 15 years of service)? Are you saying officers should be required to work longer than the maximum 32 years as it is right now in order to receive full benefits?
