My guess would be that the reason they are searching so intensively in the woods and around the house is that law enforcement is receiving cell tower "pings" from either one, or all three cell phones that were reportedlt stolen from the residence.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if they find one or all of these phones, they can lift some prints.
I'm going out on a limb, and saying its the pings from the phone(s) that has them re-searching the woods and around the house.

ReplyDeleteCell phones only send out "pings" every once in a while when they are not actively being used.
Most cell phone tracking systems are only accurate to within 300 feet of the actual phone location, due to the tracking system on cell phones requiring "triangulation" by three or more cell towers to fix its location.
What that means, is it the phone is actively "pinging", there is a 300 foot radius from its actual location that it could be. Cell phones don't use the sattellite GPS systems that people are familiar with.
That means the phone could be in an area that is over 250,000 square feet from its actual location. And they are in heavily timbered and brushy and hilly area searching. It will be like finding a needle in a haystack in that area, even with the pings from the phone, as cell phone locators are not pin point accurate like sattellite GPS systems are.
That's some good sleuthing right there, boys.
