TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! MAINSTREAM MEDIA FAILS TO REPORT PUSHBACK FROM THE CROWD AT JERMAINE REED'S MLK/PROSPECT PRESSER!!!

So . . . We've debated the MLK Street idea . . . But here's what I just learned . . .
TODAY AT JERMAINE REED'S PRESSER TO CHANGE THE NAME OF PROSPECT IN ORDER TO HONOR MLK . . . THERE WAS A GREAT DEAL OF OPPOSITION TO THE YOUNG COUNCIL DUDE!!!
AN AWESOME TKC TIPSTER TOLD US . . .
There were calls from the audience saying:
"You're only here during the day. You aren't here at night to see how bad it really gets."
"A Name Change Isn't Going To Change Anything."
More importantly . . .
THERE WAS TALK OF THE JERMAINE REED RECALL EFFORT FROM THE CROWD!!!
Sooooooo . . . What's important about this bit of VITAL INFORMATION FROM KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS is that it shows . . .
RESIDENTS OF PROSPECT HAVE A GREAT UNDERSTANDING REGARDING THE FUTILITY OF SYMBOLIC GESTURES IN ORDER TO STOP CRIME!!!
This fact doesn't bode will for any member of The City Council or The Mayor when it comes to the important fight to curb the Kansas City homicide rate.

Alonzo Washington Perspective
Give the guy a chance Tony. Street-scaping and other improvements could raise property values.
ReplyDeleteChanging the name Martin Luther King isn't going to change anything. Not in this day and age. Most of the young thugs don't even know who King is and could care less.
ReplyDeleteBut Kenneth Scott, who owns a barber shop near 26th and Prospect, says that while he supports honoring Dr. King, he says that the effort to rename Prospect is nothing more than a stunt.
ReplyDelete"I feel like all this that happened here, this press conference it's a crock of mess," said Scott, who says that Reed is more interested in making a name for himself than stopping violence along the Prospect corridor. "It's just horrible, it's just horrible man. Y'all know that it's horrible. Something needs to be done in this area to promote black business. Not promote (the Ad-Hoc Group Against Crime) and not promote Jermaine Reed."
I will say this for the eastside black community clowns, they're nothing if not predictable and highly entertaining.
ReplyDeleteJermaine Reed is a jackass! It's clear he is not calling the shots. Big Brother Brooks is always there! Mind your business old man!
ReplyDeleteThe story forgets to mention Jermaine Reed is also Chairman of Adhoc Group Against Crime.
ReplyDeleteFunny how alvin crooks is part of all these political things and that's direct violation of policy for any police dept official to be part of politics.
ReplyDeleteAlvin Crooks. Good one.
ReplyDeleteWhat an insult to MLK to name that crime ridden gutter of a street after a great man like him. Those people pushing this have no shame.
ReplyDeleteKenneth Scott says what everybody is thinking.
ReplyDeleteThat whole bunch of grifters is without shame.
Not all the mainstream media failed to report this:

Sounds like an Uncle Tom suggestion.
ReplyDeleteI've been to many cities, and have driven down their MLK avenue, drive or whatever. Hellholes, all of them. Soo...to rename Prospect MLK Drive would be appropriate.
ReplyDeleteI heard the reception was an extremely positive one. Your sources are misleading you.
ReplyDeleteAnd you know what they say: Listen not to a tale-bearer or slanderer, for he tells nothing out of good will; but as he discovereth of the secrets of others, so he will of thine in turn.
Polishing a turd. Speaking of Alonzo, it's hard to take the nigger seriously when he can't articulate properly. And no, Alonzo, articulate does not mean a cold, northern area that is running behind schedule.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, something needs to be done in this area to promote "black" business. How about just business in general. The only people at 26/Prospect right now area OGs, hookers, and dirtbags. Apparently the idea of the new police station at 26/Prospect wasn't good enough so they want to change the name of Prospect to MLK. Hmmm
ReplyDeleteURBAN DICTIONARY HAS TWO ENTRIES FOR MARTIN LUTHER KING JR BLVD.
ReplyDelete1. A street in every major American city, commonly inhabited with large amounts of unemployed African Americans. In most cities among the top ten streets involved in gang shootings, drug busts, car thefts, and older white women and blacks of all ages, "gettin' dey neclaces jacked". The average age for school dropouts on MLK boulevard is approximately 13 years of age, and the average income of the inhabitants here varies greatly depending on when Miguel last was able to supply DuQuaan with the "goods." Many fried chicken restaurants are typically located here, the significance of which being the food's strong appeal to the native population.
2. If you are white, your are on the wrong road.
EXPLAINS IT ALL.
It is sad that all Jermain Reed (City Council 3rd District in District) can find to do for people of the 3rd district is focus on taking their homes and changing the name of a Street; when we have so many more worthy projects he should be focusing on.
ReplyDeleteMartin Luther King was about “Bringing People together” yet he wants to name a street that is segregated, for the most part, After a man who fought against segregation. If a street is to be named after Dr. King it should be Troost since it has always been the dividing line between Blacks and Whites.
I also noticed that Rev. John Modis Miles was standing there in support of this action; while his church sets in our community He like Jermain are all about them. REV. MILES NOR JREMAIN REED SPEAKS FOR The PEOPLE OF THIS DISTRICT.
Jermain Reed, slipped into office because the people wanted Sharon Saunders Brooks out NOT because they wanted him in and He would be wise to remember that and start talking and Listening to the People he is suppose to represent and quit being a yes man for Rev. Miles.
While Morning Star Baptist Church sets in the 3rd District more of its members live in other areas that are not near its location or in other Districts. THE CHURCH IS A PART OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS NOT A PART OF THE CHURCH! He does not consult with members of this community to see what they want he is all about what He wants.
Let's cut to the chase. I say we change it to "Super Happy No Problems Peace Love and Happiness Avenue".
ReplyDeleteThat will fix all the problems. People will be melting down their guns to make rosaries after that.
lolzerz on 01:03
ReplyDeleteThere were comments from businesses on Prospect about this knuckleheaded idea....KMBC featured one guy complaining about the grandstanding.
ReplyDeleteHypocrisy, HUH! BAM,POW! King would say SHAME, NOT IN MY NAME!
ReplyDeletei don't care what they call it. i'm still using troost as the dividing line.
ReplyDeleteTony, I didn't know you were a shill for Gwen and Clinton!?! Putting all this crap on about the recall of Jermaine, is just shillin' for those those two egoistical, self-serving, monkey-ball-licking pricks. So stop. Now. I mean it.
ReplyDeleteDo you really want SSB back in the saddle? that's who's leading the recall.
ReplyDeleteIsn't there somebody better?
ReplyDeleteThey changed Brush Creek Blvd to Cleaver II Blvd and the creek is still filled with shit.
ReplyDeleteWell, the school district sucks, so let's rename a street and have a party!
ReplyDeletePoliticians in Kansas City...nobody cares.
