CLAY CHASTAIN STAYS LOSING!!!

Today the Council made it official that they don't really think much of the citizen initiative petition. Like it or not, direct Democracy in Kansas City has grown weaker today.

Or . . . In this recession it's a MUST to have a funding source secured for any idea. Similarly, City Council only rushes to help on behalf of developers.

To wit . . . Channel 2 offered us a glimpse . . .

CLAYS CHASTAIN'S LIGHT RAIL PETITION WITH MORE THAN 3K CERTIFIED VOTER SIGNITURES WON'T MAKE IT ON THE BALLOT!!!

It's easy (and fun) to hate on Clay . . . But this is really a story about City Council doing very little to work on a project with the support of more than THREE THOUSAND VOTERS. Like it or not, that sends a very direct message about the state of politics at City Hall.

It doesn't matter if you like Clay Chastain, today he taught this cowtown a lesson about the real level of influence (or lack thereof) that voters have in Kansas City.

  1. And if I did a petition drive to give everyone $10,000 do you think I could get 3K signatures? Should that be on the ballot?

  2. 3,000 voters is less than 2% of the registered voters in KCMO Tony. Obviously the registered voters of KCMO don't give a fuck about Clay and his unfunded prospective drain on the tax payers.

If anyone gave a fuck about Clay and his stupid ideas, more than 2% of the voters would sign his petitions, er I mean his dating list...

  4. Clay shot himself in the foot on this one. He made the ballot language so specific and did not properly account for the expense of the project. He also ignored rules regarding park land. His petition was unworkable and illegal. It had no place on the ballot.

  5. NOW Clay, will you go away? Please? How many times and in how many ways do you have to be told? Nobody wants you or your dipshit ideas here.

  6. Time for Clay to pick up a new hobby besides wasting our collective time putting his bullshit on the ballot. He could try collecting pubes with tweesers at the men's room at Union Station-that should keep him busy and out of the way.

  7. i am sorry have to break this to you but this about the right of petition and the voters.

  8. Clay would not help insure that our petition rights would not be changed by the Charter Changes. He was asked , he was called on the phone. He would not help fight the changes. So the loser gets what he deserves. The price of democracy is eternal vigilance and voting the demagogs out. Sorry about your train ride Clay.

  9. 2:53, no actually, you're wrong. This issue has nothing to do with voters, their influence, etc. It's all about cry-baby Clay, his stubbornness, his stupidity and utter lack of common sense.
