Jorgie Porter has me excited about my own bit of local "small biz"!!! Sigh.
Still . . .

To wit . . . This is YET ANOTHER opportunity for small biz people in KC to share their thoughts or stop complaining.
Great idea and some serious practical leadership from Councilmen Wagner and Taylor. Over 85% of all the jobs in teh metro are created and sustained by small businesses, but the city constantly focuses on the big TIF projects, and mostly downtown.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly the kind of thing the city should be doing and may actually have some practical results, unlike the $200 grand wasted on the Chamber "business retention" efforts.
How to run your own Small Pharma biz on the westside.
ReplyDeleteThis kind of stuff would be great if they could get real small business. Chances are most will be those who get city business or they make their income off political activity. Real business people spend their time taking care of customers.
ReplyDeleteThe people who answer the phone in Finance are as rude as the people who answer in the Water dept. After 3 years in a row having them mess up my business taxes, I called to ask the Director why they can't get it right. There was a glitch and they were fixing it, she said. The next year I get another letter saying I didn't file my taxes again and I called just like the prior three years expecting to have to send them multiple times just like before. I told the "gentleman" who answered that I spoke to the Acting Director and she said they were fixing the problem, so why did this happen again? He said, "Why would she talk to you"? Unbelievable.
