Harvey's @ Union Station Awesome

Here's how nice some of you people are . . . Normally my lunch consists of QT hot dog and half open can of Dr. Pepper.

However, because traffic, comments and the daily quotient of AWESOME has increased . . . A couple of you have taken me out to lunch.

There have been many highlights but last week . . . Harvey's At Union Station lunch was AWESOME!!!

This isn't a full on restaurant review but the menu at the place was pretty cool. I had a rather delicious gourmet hamburger and fries, both where pretty great but the FRIES TOTALLY RULED and earn my highest recommendation.

However, better than anything else was the service and atmosphere. Sitting anywhere but the second story perch would be a mistake. Obviously, the architecture of the old school Kansas City building is awe inspiring and it's nice to have lunch there because a break in conversation just to look around and enjoy the surroundings is expected. Nickkie our server hottie was exceptionally nice as well and it was surprising to see somebody smile so much during the working hours . . . Seriously, not kidding about that.

To wit, if you're not paying for lunch, Harvey's is certainly worth a visit and the place definitely has a classy Kansas City vibe that even made TKC feel upscale despite the fact I was wearing three day old clothes and my baseball cap. Natch.

  2. Tony forgot to mention that Harvey's footed the bill.

    Which rhymes with shill.

Not a bad way to get free food, Tony. Doesn't do a damn thing for you in terms of objectivity, though. Enjoy it before you get shut down.

  3. Seriously? You imagine I get paid to post a couple pics and a quick write up that I had a nice lunch. Thanks for reading the blog dude, but you're giving me way too much credit.

I guess I should take your ignorance as a compliment. But it's just kind of weird.

And, of course, I appreciate your best wishes.

  6. Yes, if Tony posted on the local food wagons then I might value his opinion, but (no offense to you Tony) Tony is no foodie

  7. Don't have any proof, Tony. I didn't actually go out and check my facts. I'm just relying on what my AWESOME TIPSTERS told me.

Which is sorta how this blog operates, isn't it?

What's good for the ganso ...

  8. I hope there were more people at the restaurant than were shown in your pictures, or that the few people there ate as much as you did.
Union Station's a great place. It's too bad it took so long to figure out how to make it work.
