I've got some "news-ish" stuff that I'm working on right now so I thought we'd finish off tonight's posting with a "think piece" and just a couple of Kansas City observations . . .
REAL ESTATE SPECULATORS LINGERING ON THE WESTSIDE OF KANSAS CITY SHOULD KNOW THAT EVERY 4TH OF JULY THE STREETS ARE NEARLY IMPASSIBLE THANKS TO IMPROMPTU AND ILLEGAL FIREWORKS DISPLAYS!!!
Seriously, there's nothing funnier than watching kids of so many diverse background toss around fireworks in front of a house priced at 3/4 a million bucks. Good times . . . Last night's illegal fireworks among local Latinos and po'folk of various ethnic backgrounds all over Kansas City were kinda nice . . .
But back to reality . . .
It's important to acknowledge that in some small, stupid way and despite their legal status . . . Every Latino in this town takes the blame when some drunken, undocumented idiot kills somebody on the road . . . And that might be the case in a recent wrong-way crash.
Contrary to popular misconceptions, not all of us are cousins.
Nevertheless, every time I hear about a deadly drunken driving accident I find myself thinking "please let it be a white guy" and most of the time it is . . . But, I would be remiss if I didn't understand that some folks are determined to use every tragedy involving a Latino as a talking point and a excuse to stir up more rancor.
But in the end we all hope that love wins out over hate . . . And as elections move closer it's interesting to see politicos from both political parties discover a new found love for the burgeoning Latino voting bloc.

Guys, it is time for all of us to forget about skin tones, and accents. I am a redneck white boy, my two kids, you would never guess were 1/4 mexican genes.
