Last month, we broke news about Mayor Sly's Pricey Re-election fundraiser put on by some of the most powerful people in Kansas City.
The shindig is in my neighborhood but I didn't have the cash to make it in the door . . . And I don't know who I'm gonna vote for in 4 years if I'm not run over by a truck first.
To wit . . .
SOME OF THE MOST KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS ARE SENDING US PHOTOS FROM THE MAYOR SLY REELECTION FUNDRAISER TONIGHT!!!
In the first photo, that's Kansas City Development Attorney Mike White next to the Mayor. Kansas City Communications guru Pat Gray is at the mic to introduce sponsors.
One AWESOME TIPSTER at the event noted, "if you analyze all the sponsors (not hosts or people at just the basic contributor level) it is mostly the work of the development attorneys in KC who were for Hermann or Burke. Sly had trial attorneys but not Mike White, Jerry Riffel, Dave Fenley.
The crowd is growing bigger as we speak . . . At last count there were REPORTEDLY 100 OF KANSAS CITY'S MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE in attendance.
PRELIMINARY REPORTS REVEAL THAT KANSAS CITY'S MAYOR SLY JAMES MIGHT HAVE RAISED $100,000 AT THIS HIGH PRICED FUNDRAISER!!!
That is HUGE money in this economy and a sign that Kansas City's power elite have rallied behind Mayor Sly at the outset of his administration.

It is simply the oligarchy making a belated purchase of it's position of influence on account of the fact that they didn't back him in the first place. To them, all is now right with the world given that their hefty contributions will grant them liberal access to the mayor's office so they can push their agenda.....an agenda at odds with the desires of those that elected Sly.

ReplyDeleteSly James doesn't need to get into bed with Pat Gray. He hired his high priced campaign staff to work in his office and we are paying their salary. Wonder why all he's doing is campaigning? It is because he hired people who campaign for a living and know nothing about Kansas City Government or its people. You can tell quite a bit about a Mayor by the staff they hire. It shows what their true interest is and is an indicator of what they will focus on. Look at Barnes, she built her legacy for her next run and passed several agenda's of her contributors also for her next run. Her staff was made up of KC old school politicos and old school players made out like a bandit. James has set his sights higher based on his staff of national campaign operatives. Problem is, there's this job he has now that he has to do first.
