TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! READ A LETTER FROM KANSAS REP. LOUIS RUIZ CALLING FOR VIRGIL PECK CENSURE!!!

Controversy continues to rage over Virgil Peck comments that compared the idea of killing feral hogs with more immigration control.

CHECK OUT KANSAS HOUSE REP. LOUIS RUIZ LEADING THE FIGHT AGAINST VIOLENT TALK AND INTOLERANCE!!!

Recently, Ruiz offered some reasonable solutions to this dilemma by proposing that The Kansas House should "Strip Representative Peck of all leadership positions for the remainder of this session and the 2012 session, i.e. Chairmanship of the Transportation Budget Committee and any sub-committee." Also he notes that "Representative Peck should be censured."

RE: Representative Virgil Peck

TO: Representative Paul Davis, Minority Leader
Representative Tom Burroughs, Assistant Minority Leader

Dear Representatives Davis and Burroughs:

In the wake of the recent, racist comments by Representative Peck, regarding the disposal of feral hogs by shooting them out of helicopters, he stated that this would be a good way to dispose of the undocumented immigrants, categorically equating a human to an animal. I took this to be offensive and demeaning. Being the only Latino/Hispanic member of our Democratic Caucus, I must protest loudly on this racist, perpetrated rant by Mr. Peck.

This is not the first time he has made offensive remarks regarding minorities or women. Therefore, I am strongly recommending that the Democratic House Leadership pursue action with the majority party leadership to ensure that this type of behavior does not continue to invade the sanctity of the Kansas House of Representatives as follows:

1. Strip Representative Peck of all leadership positions for the remainder of this session and the 2012 session, i.e. Chairmanship of the Transportation Budget Committee and any sub-committee.

2. Representative Peck should be censured

I am pursuing this action due to the fact that he called for a violent resolve regarding a race of people, Latino/Hispanic, who only want a chance for citizenship, but do not meet his standards of what qualifies as a human with rights.

Respectfully,

Louis E. Ruiz
State Representative
32 District
