TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! JACKSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE MIKE SANDERS LEANING CLOSER TO RUNNING FOR LT. GOVERNOR?!?

Jackson County politics is notorious for stopping the forward momentum of any political career . . . To wit, nobody would blame Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders for jumping ship.

Sanders no longer seems like the "change agent" he was just a couple of years ago. Thankfully, Mayor Funky is now out of office so The County Exec. no longer benefits from the juxtaposition with an epic FAIL. Still, Mike Sanders has some fans and it's fair to say that he might be able to scrape together some of his "good government" credentials under the right circumstances.

Current Lt. Gov. Kinder's war chest is huge but really signals that he's thinking about challenging Gov. Jay Nixon. A high-profile Missouri office that's open for the taking might appeal to Sanders after so much contentious Democrat infighting has taken its toll and slightly changed the perception of The County Exec. as a leader.

A classic Dem. vs. GOP fight for a State Office would give Mike Sanders a chance to rally his donkey homies across that State to his cause. Name recognition and fantastic record as a campaigner and fundraiser might push him over the top.

A great deal of this is speculation but it's also a widely accepted fact that Mike Sanders must get out of Jackson County quickly if he wants to keep his "reformer" image even partially intact.
