TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY MISSOURI HOUSE REP. JASON KANDER'S ETHICS EFFORT STRUCK DOWN!!!

A very reliable, trusted and KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTER just sent this message my way . . .

"SB 844 (Kander's Ethics Language) was struck down about 30 min ago in Cole County Circuit Court. "

Given early Mayor-Elect Sly screw-ups this hasn't been a great week for one of Midtown's favorite politicos . . . Post-election season is never easy but I wouldn't be surprised to see Kander bounce back.

As for Missouri Ethics . . . I always thought that was an oxymoron anyhoo . . .

UPDATE . . .

For all of the TKC READERS who are legal eagles . . . I've excerpted the "money" passage in my opinion, click the link or the image for a bigger view:

Or . . . READ THE WHOLE DOCUMENT AND OPINION STRIKING DOWN SB 844 THANKS TO AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS!!!

  1. What the hell is Ethics language supposed to mean?

    No one has ethics anymore.

  2. Next election Kander will probably try to spin this into something ridiculous like: Jason Kander has fought for ethics in Jefferson City against the Missouri Constitution, but much work remains to be done!

  3. Maybe Kander as a Missouri lawyer should also try to..you know...have a solid grasp of the Missouri Constitution.

  4. Ha ha ha - what a dork.

  5. Yeah, if anyone actually thinks this will show up on the radars of even 1% of the voting public come election time in a year and a half, well you're optimistic.

Besides, it's really not a big deal. It got struck down by a single circuit court. Call me again when we get through at least two appellate levels.

  6. This law hurt Democrat organizations. Kander is to blame.

  7. Just imagine what damage Kander could do as prosecutor.

  8. How did the unconstitutional law treat ambitious children with rich uncle's willing to buy elections?

I sure hope Jason will be ok under the new law.

  9. There could have been an equal protection argument made as well: Why did the bill target state chartered banks, but not other state chartered financial institutions?

  10. Ok so Kander is a kid who fucked up?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yes, and as bright as a nightlight bulb.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I bet that Steve Bough offered Jason expert legal advise.

They are both so fucking brilliant.

Obviously this judge is a fool.

  13. If Fred Ebb's nephew runs for office around here do we have to elect him too?

  14. How does kander take credit for charlie shields senate bill, he didnt write it, he didnt get it passed, he shouldnt get the credit nor the blame. He worked on the bill nothing more. Read the article nothing mentioned about kander at all. The only person who considers the ethics bill kanders is kander. I wonder if he still puts this major accomplishment on his mailer for prosecutor?

  15. kander isn't smart period. money and demographics buy you little statehouse races, not intellect...

bottom line: he is a lousy lawyer with an obnoxious wife...i'm tired of seeing his face on this blog.
