It was revealed a few days ago in the radio message room, which most media people, including John and you, read. The TV room says one of the stations is going to start a 9am newscast, which I think is a good idea since retail really starts at ten and none of em wake up at 5am.
ReplyDeleteIn essense, more opportunity to get commercials and use the same recycled news content from the ten pm and overnight.
The other station changing is GenX flipping to something called 'the point'. I think the 98.1 simulcast of AM 98 is a good move for talk radio and it's happening lots of places.
As I'm fond of saying, FM radio changes formats like their few remaining jocks change their underwear... every spring, whether they need a change or not.

ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that anyone listens to KMBZ. Darla is about the only programing they've got worth listening to. This thing has got to be about cost cutting. Hopefully, there is a finite number of DUMB people that will listen to KMBZ and it's maxed out, so that even having an AM and FM, the number won't go up.
