Here's a recent shot of a campaign meeting with a group of close Tracy Ward advisers and supporters.
Obviously, I'm really excited about her candidacy and the progress that she has made so far . . .
RIGHT NOW SHE'S ONE OF THE VERY FEW CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES WHO ISN'T COMPLETELY BACKED BY A KANSAS CITY SPECIAL INTEREST!!!
She's passionate about the her ideas, committed to her principles and best of all . . . TRACY IS KEEPING HER CAMPAIGN TOTALLY GRASSROOTS!!!
As much as anything, this final decision makes me respect Tracy Ward and the sacrifices she has made to try and help this town.
Real talk: She's the only person in this crop of current Council candidates who voters can rely on to call B.S. on so many City Hall shenanigans. And while our political ideas may diverge in a few areas, this aspect of her candidacy is the most promising development in Kansas City Democracy for years.
So, this town's favorite pink-haired lady is sticking to her guns, drawing her supporters together and working on getting her message out to voters . . . Double Bonus: Bill Nigro looks so cute and cuddly in this photo so that's why I thought I'd post it for this evening.
what a bunch of fucking losers
ReplyDeleteAs opposed to Cathy Jolly's husband wanting his wife's job.
ReplyDeleteNo, as opposed to Tracy Ward wanting to be the center of attention and in the spotlight....like HER husband.
ReplyDeletestrange that Ward screened for endorsements she just wasn't chosen but she wanted them...way to.talk about them after the fact.
ReplyDeleteYep, Nigro's cooked after this stunt. He's become the Charlie Sheen of KC politics and the secret bedroom may be similar as well.
ReplyDeleteThe choice confronting the voters doesn't have to be between a wholly-owned special interest candidate or a whack job.
ReplyDeleteKCMO desperately needs some independent voices who might actually be interested in representing the residents and trying to pursue some serious public policies that would be benefits to everyone.
But instead, there's just the endless parade of self-absorbed nobodies who hire the same consultants, take money from the same insiders, hope for low voter turnouts, and keep marching down the same well-worn path.
There are some good candidates this time around, but none of them are in the 6th District races.
the current occupant is a real clueless bitch so if ward won, would we see any difference?
ReplyDeleteWard would suck a big one to get an endorsement. So all this BS about not being backed by a special interest is just that. She has TRIED to get ANY of the established groups to endorse her, but all they see and hear is an uninformed idiot in pink hair. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteIf you think Cathy Jolly is clueless, have you talked with her husband?
ReplyDeleteTracy used to work for Nigro behind the bar and he used to take his bar up hers. Hope that doesn't come out in the election.
ReplyDeleteNigro running his former bartender for the City Council. This just shows what an idiot he is and should embarrassment anyone on the current Council who's supported ANY of his phony baloney ideas.
ReplyDeleteLong shot to elect a puppet (by Nigro).
ReplyDeleteGrassroots? you mean no roots. No taxes, no police, no firefighters, no nothing except people living in chaos
ReplyDeleteI see five votes there. Dear Tracy, loose the pink hair, seriously. It is more damage to you then Gloria was to Funk.
ReplyDeleteClose advisors? Try her only supporters.
ReplyDeleteBukkake, Bukkake...Bukkake...
ReplyDeleteWhen you go to the polls, remember ,"Ward= Bukkake!!!!"
Some of Tracy views are scarey!!! Letting people goveren them selves not a good idea. And Scott Taylor a empty suite that knows jackshit about city politics KC is fucked in a major way. Serously!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read above "real clueless bitch" I first thought of John Sharp and not Mrs. Scott Taylor.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the Kansas City Board of Election Unofficial Results:
ReplyDeleteS. Taylor: 10,968
C Eddy: 5,125
M. Brown: 4,890
T. Ward: 4,625
R. Abel: 3,831
M. Rabbi: 1,049
D. Quarles: 913
Write-In Votes:127
Taylor & Eddy goes to March 22nd, Not Taylor and Ward.
Come on, TEE, it's okay to shill for your girl on your blog but everyone knows that Tracy's campaign is no more grass roots than her hair color is natural.
ReplyDeleteWard is no less controlled by "special interests" than any other candidate, only in her case she only has one special interest- Bill Nigro.
Do you know if back in the day, Nigro was a participant in any of the activities you describe?
ReplyDelete12:12, you're not counting the Northand vote. Interesting, though, how Tracy ran better outside the 6th district than inside it.
ReplyDelete"call B.S. on so many City Hall shenanigans."
ReplyDeleteGee, we never hear crackpot candidates say they are going to "call BS on so many (City Hall, Jeff City, D.C.) shenanigans."
But it's really funny to me how they never get specific, suddenly clam up on the rare occasions one of them gets elected, and have so many idiots still buying the same line the next time around.
Bill and Tracy did used to sleep together but surely she is smarter than that now. Then again, it doesn't make sense otherwise. Ew.
ReplyDeleteShe finished a distant second in the primary.
ReplyDeleteTKC should have more big stories about the candidate who finished first.
Bill and Tracy used to smack their monkey bits together? That means I owe my wife $5. She called that weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteTracy may be a good candidate, but as an elected official she will be a major flop.
ReplyDeleteDo you really think she can get through the budget or the PIAC hearings?
Ward claims to want smaller government and less spending, with more money going back to the taxpayers.
ReplyDeleteShe needs to put her money where her mouth is and commit right now that 1/2 of the 6th District PIAC dollars will be rebated to KC residents who pay the E-Tax.
Bill Nigro should just eliminate the middleman and run for Council himself.
ReplyDeleteGawd, another political activist.
ReplyDeleteJust what we need at City Hall, someone to take over for Clay and the Funky/Glo/Roe crew.
Hey, besides Nigro, who's done such a wonderful job with Westport, losing US Senate candidate and pest control princess Cisse Spragins and her husband losing Missouri House Sean O'Tool are advising Ward.
ReplyDeleteThat trifecta is as good as money in the bank!
Hey 9:13, they ran as Libertarians. Were you expecting them to win?
ReplyDeleteWhy all the Nigro hate? The city goes out and becomes a competitor to private businesses (P&L vs. Wesport) and Nigro complains? Cut the guy some slack.
ReplyDelete9:45- Your memory is obviously faulty.
ReplyDeleteYou're forgetting the very PUBLIC SUBSIDIES FOR WESTPORT that created Manor Square, World Market, Westport Sunfresh, Westport Square Shopping Area, and the Drunken Trolleys, among others.
If they're starving in Westport it's their own fault- not the City's.
Nigro got his and needs to quit the whining.
If she's the only one to call B.S. on shenanigans, then what's she doing teamed up with (gag, "cute & cuddly) Nigro?
ReplyDeleteVoters should be very wary of relying on Team Pink.
9:42 O'Toole was running against baby Rizzo, a DEM during the PUB monsoon in Jeff City and who also carried a personal cloud of questionability over his head.
ReplyDeleteIf O'Toole couldn't figure out how to beat him, I don't know that he has a lot of business giving advice to other candidates- at least not on how to win.
I thought that internally, it was the role of the City Auditor and the Ethics Commission to call B.S. on City Hall shenanigans.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Ward is going to call B.S. on them?
At lunch, two young girls here with pink hair, lip and nose piercings. Had to look away from this train wreck. First thoughts, what did mommy and daddy do to piss you off. Tracy, don't be a stubborn fool like Funk, loose the pink hair.
ReplyDeleteNo one really hates Nigro - People are just sick of him. Everywhere...especially at the City Council and in the campaign.
ReplyDeleteThey especially don't like his business groups efforts to reconfigure the Regulated Industries Department. Employee related Quid pro quo talks in campaigns are very uncomfortable for candidates and carry HUGE potential employer liability issues for the City and the new Council.
His effort to puppeteer Tracy into the Council to stir up trouble is unbecoming and will be his downfall. Goodbye Bill.
And Nigro's another Funky.
ReplyDeleteBitches and moans that his failings (in Nigro's case, his contribution to the decline of Westport) is all somebody else's fault.
First it was the Police Dept.'s fault for not controlling the black youth.
Then it was the City's fault for not giving black youth something else to do.
Then it was the City's fault for subsidizing other entertainment development.
Then it was the City's fault for passing the smoking ban.
The City fault for lack of transportation.
The City's fault for making it too hard on promoters to get (or in some cases keep) liquor licenses.
And on and on and on and on.
One of the most popular rock 'n roll DJ's in KC couldn't make a go of it in Westport.
And, as if that wasn't enough, for heaven's sake even Craig Stanford (a likable but not so smart guy) saw the writing on the wall and got the hell out of Westport.
There's something systemically wrong with Westport.
And it ain't the blacks, it ain't the PD, it ain't the City, it ain't Regulated Industries.
Maybe the problem with Westport, Billy boy, IS YOU!
If Nigro was doing Ward when Ward worked for him, maybe this endorsement is just a pay-off for Ward not taking any formal actions to pursue recompense for liberties Nigro has (unlawfully) taken.
ReplyDeleteAfter all, we all know Tracy is all about protecting (indecent) liberties and privacy.
Speaking of special interests. Somebody should take a look at John Sharp's supporters.
ReplyDelete2:09, this thread of comments is strictly reserved for ripping on Ward and Nigro.
ReplyDeleteIf you wish to begin a new thread about John Sharp's contributors, all you have to do is e-mail TEE using the subject line, "CONNECTING THE LIVER SPOTS".
We now return to regular programming....
Looks like someone REALLY hates Tracy Ward. One person making all these comments pretending to have a conversation with other people. Ha!
ReplyDeleteKC doesn't deserve someone as great as Tracy Ward. Tony's right, Tracy is the best thing to happen to KC politics since I've been alive.
Actually, it looks like only one person who likes tracy ward making comments.
ReplyDeleteTee, why you call me out like that at 8:32?
