The General Election is getting closer . . .
Today, Tracy Ward heard from a member of an audience WHO IS ALSO A MEMBER OF The Citizens Association at an election screening today . . . The fearful politico seemed downright afraid of anything that strayed from the status quo. Here's the money line offered toward Kansas City's 6th District At-Large upstart:
"Ma'am, if you would have brought an AK-47 to this meeting, I would be less scared than I am of your words!"
That sounds like something we'd hear from a Citizens Association member. CA is a great group and I respect all that they've helped accomplish for Kansas City. However, this line offered toward Tracy (and subsequently posted on her Facebook) offers a glimpse at their fear of a strong candidate who isn't afraid to shake things up.
TKC NOTE: UPDATED A FEW WORDS BUT NOT THE MONEY LINE @ 9:55 P.M.
Thank you. This just helped me make up my mind who to vote for.
ReplyDeleteCitizens Association = OLD, SAME, FAIL
Tracy Ward = NEW, CHANGE, GETS MY VOTE
I actually have access to some pretty heavy ordnance if ya need it Tracy.
ReplyDeleteToo bad, tracy could of introduced the Citizens Association to Bukkake Parties.
ReplyDeleteWhat we all REALLY want to know about Tracy: Does she die her bush pink too?
ReplyDeleteThis quote sounds like something from Hosni Mubarak right before he hit the road. The Citizens'Association is just another scelrotic dusty group of old self-important folks who think they somehow have the right to decide who is and who isn't politically in KCMO. And given the mess the city is in, they either haven't had much to say, or they've picked some real losers.
ReplyDeleteEither way, they should go back to their croquet game and let the rest of us deal with 2011.
Go Tracy! Anyone who can frighten a part of the power elite has my support!! Do you think she can get Terry Dunn and the Civic Council to pee in their pants in fear?
ReplyDeleteHere are some words that should frighten all of us:
ReplyDeleteMike Burke, after over 10 years of stiffing the Port Authority for millions in legal fees, "I don't know if it is a conflict of interest or not. Let's hire a lawyer to tell us."
CHUCK CRACKS ME UP
ReplyDeleteMaybe what scares the Citizens' Association is the fact that Tracy is an uninformed, clueless, idiot.
ReplyDeleteThat's what scares me.
Was this in response to her saying that firefighters and police shouldn't be subsidized by taxpayers?
ReplyDeleteWho specifically said it? I would just call Cheryl but she's probably too clueless to remember.
ReplyDeleteWhen did Tracy screen for CA?
ReplyDeleteEarlier today, I believe.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Cheryl & Co. They like Burke a lot. I think that says it all.
ReplyDeleteTony, originally you quoted Tracy as saying this happened at the Citizens' Association. Now you've changed it. Doesn't Tracy know where she was?
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't speak well about her awareness of reality.
Uhm . . . check that . . . pretty sure the person who made the remark ISN'T a member of CA.
ReplyDeleteTracy,I had the honor of meeting you and you are WONDERFUL. We could use an entire City Council of people like you!
ReplyDeleteI don't know Tracy. I've never met her. But I do know that Jacob Turk was at the KCEB results watching for Tracy Ward. That scares me.
ReplyDeleteCheryl is a butt-kissing moron. She has climbed so far up Burke's ass it's disgusting. CA is decomposing.
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Ha Ha Ha. Cheryl can't control her people. They are saying stuff that Mike Burke would agree with even if it means keeping out Tracy Ward who is right. They are dummies. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. Go Tracy. Make them run away. When Mike Burke loses you can laugh hard!
ReplyDeleteThe person was a member of the CA
ReplyDeleteAnd they suck.
GO Tracy!
"Maybe what scares the Citizens' Association is the fact that Tracy is an uninformed, clueless, idiot. That's what scares me."
ReplyDeleteB-I-N-G-O!
Ward is nothing more than a Tea Party neo-libertarian tool of the extreme right wing who really doesn't have much of an idea herself what that means. All she can say is "personal liberty" and hold signs at red-light camera intersections, while we didn't hear a peep from her when the Bush Administration was shredding the Bill of Rights.
If you want to learn about the real Tracy Ward and see what kind of "change" she really advocates, google up "Liberty Restoration Project" and "Missouri Sovereignity Project."
Tracy Ward is an anarchist, not a patriot. She is a fucking idiot like the rest of you screwballs who support her. Fortunately, she will be a very minor footnote in the history of KC elections come March 23, no matter how much Tony would like to diddle her pink bush.
ReplyDeleteIf elected she would be a bigger disgrace than stinky feet Gloria. Lawsuits, ignorance and extreme actions.
ReplyDeleteI might be able to vote for T-Ward.
ReplyDeleteAfter all, with Funky out of City Hall the post of clueless Council idiot is open and available.
Tracy would bring high entertainment value to City Hall.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, the media circus that would follow her other-planetary political positions may even help to revive the moribund KC Star.
I think Tracy is a sincere and well meaning person, but so are most of the people involved with the Moonies, Scientology, Mormonism and porn.
ReplyDeleteThe Liberty Restoration Project exhibits many classic cultist characteristics.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.sixwise.com/newsletters/06/07/26/how-cults-lure-new-members.htm
Doesn't necessarily make them dangerous.
I'm just sayin'.......
Should be interesting to see how organized labor reacts to Ward's stated desire to to privatize government functions (which many equate to attempting to bust up the unions).
ReplyDeleteTony doesn't want to diddle in Ward's cotton candy.
ReplyDeleteWith him this is either a "cool" thing or a Mexi-helper or both.
Ward's husband plays drums in a few bands that are fairly well known on the local bar/club scene. Tony just wants to ingratiate himself and be part of the "cool" crowd, go backstage, get a few free drinks from Billy Nigro, maybe pick up a couple of chicks along the way. Take them back to the basement at momma's house.
And the Ward's husband is supposedly of hispanic descent, another one of Tony's soft spots.
It's all good.
go Tracy go. you are making them crazy!
ReplyDelete"Bush Administration was shredding the Bill of Rights"
ReplyDeleteAt least Bush protected this country you left wing nut job.
Must have been an old Vietnam Vet who actually faced hostile enemy fire from Charlie's AKs and knows Commie talk when heard, even if the speaker has pink hair.
ReplyDeleteYep, stupid pukin' anarchists.
ReplyDeleteCan't figure out the rules or don't want to follow them ("they're special") so they advocate eliminating any law they don't like in the name of "Freedom".
Either that or they think they have some type of special insite into politics/history/philosphy that other people need to hear.
ReplyDeleteSuch arrogance.
I don't want anyone shoving any kind of crap down my throat.
ReplyDeleteNo religious crap, political crap, ideological crap, infomerical crap.
You're not special and your brand of socialism is a proven failure, so take your go peddle your brand of power elsewhere.
Classic attention-seeking behavior with an exaggerated sense of self-importance.
ReplyDeleteReward the behavior by paying attention and her demands will become more strident and outrageous.
Ignore the behavior and she will go away.
She's stealing the wing nut spotlight that used to be ours.
ReplyDeleteIgnore the pink lady with the wing nut ideas and PAY ATTENTION TO US!
Hey, Mr. "Bush protected us." From what? 9/11 and two wars happened on his watch.
ReplyDeleteSo where do you stand on warrantless wiretaps of your phone conversations, Mensa? Before you give the standard right-wing nut case answer ("I have nothing to hide, so go ahead and tap my phone") remember that those who sacrifice liberty for security will wind up with neither.
Meanwhile, as all of this was going on, where was Tracy Ward? Where was the Liberty Restoration Project? Where was the Missouri Sovereignity Project?
Oh, by the way, on top of being pretty damned dumb, Ward is also a racist. Check out MSP's view of "nullification" --- that states have the right to nullify any federal law they don't like.
It was almost as if the whole Civil Rights movement didn't happen at all, let alone the Civil War.
Unfortunately, 11:51, her behavior has been rewarded, and she'll spend the rest of her life trying to recreate the high she felt on primary night, becoming, as you predict, more outrageous to get her next fix of attention.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting comments, Scott Taylor! Guess you don't have much to do on Sundays, which is sad. Cathy have a headache?
ReplyDeleteLet's see, you spent $50 THOUSAND dollars just to make it through the primary. Think you'll have to spend in the $200 grand rage to beat a grassroots candidate that people actually like? I'd say closer to a million to buy your wifeys seat!
Tony, electing Tracy would be just like electing Gloria.
ReplyDeleteNuts!
Tracy is likable enough.
ReplyDeleteShe just has wacko wing nut political ideas and a personal need to be the center of attention.
I doubt that was Scott Taylor. He's a class act.
ReplyDeleteBut it may have been some of the crew from the Citizen's Association weighing in!
People say "Tracy Ward is an anarchist" like it's a bad thing. Just because it's an idea you're not familiar with someone holding doesn't make it a bad one. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, lack of familiarity with an idea doesn't make the idea bad.
ReplyDeleteOnly when you understand the idea can you form an opinion on it.
Tracy's ideas are BAAAAAAAAAADDDDDD.
All cults claim to have "special knowledge" that their detractors don't understand, K. Darien Freeheart.
ReplyDeleteExactly, Here We Go.
ReplyDeletePart of the narcissim thing that goes with it. People like K. Darien and Tracy are soooo much smarter than the "average" person and understand soooo much more.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Tracy is clueless and scares me. If she wins, she will be 1 of 13 votes and hopefully the other 12 will have an IQ greater than 30.
ReplyDelete8:05, what would you change?
ReplyDeleteI'm just confused though. She has pink hair, claims to be like an anti-government liberal person but big government Republican Jacob Turk is one of her advisors?
ReplyDeleteHer positions are more Republican than you might think, and lets the PUBS lay the blame for the radicalism on the left.
ReplyDeleteWants to eliminate taxes, bust the unions, hates OBAMACARE, privatize government services, etc.
Politics makes strange bedfellows.
ReplyDeleteThe 6th deserves Ward as their representative.
ReplyDeleteThey're crazy out there!
She'll actually do nothing except get more sound bites and press coverage for her LRP.
Looking at her Ethics Commission campaign disclosures tells me where her first battle will be- and it ain't with the City Council.
ReplyDeleteWard better be mindful about throwing Jolly out there (reminder to her FB friends that Jolly is Taylor's wife).
ReplyDeleteUnless she wants to see this election become about the character of the candidates' respective spouses.
That sounds like a threat you dirtbag. I guess you don't realize how many friends Tracy and her spouse have. You will on election day.
ReplyDeleteIs that true Tracy or Tony? Does Tracy want to bust unions, repeal healthcare reform, privatize public services? If not, why be represented by people who do?
ReplyDeleteIf this Ward lady needs attention, maybe she should get a pet and a blog. These are the perfect avenues for someone with such superficial and elementary political views.
ReplyDelete12:35. Your defensiveness and immaturity are showing.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't any kind of threat- it's campaign strategy 101.
Ward's strength is her message of discontent with government.
Making the campaign personal by casting aspersions at any particular person, and especially one who is not even standing for election, is counterproductive to Ward getting her message out.
If Ward starts making this election about who's married to who two things happen.
1) It's no longer an issues based campaign and Ward's message will get lost in media chatter more closely resembling soap opera coverage than an election about ideas.
2) She becomes fair game for the same treatment by media (i.e. Who is her husband? What has he done? etc.,etc.).
After 4 years of Funky, KC voters are drama-weary.
Besides, the whole premise of this argument (i.e. that elected officials have an obligation to have a face to face meeting with any constituent who demands it) is childish and terribly flawed.
Think of it this way:
There are 8760 hours in a year and 4 years in a Council term. That's about 35,000 hours per term.
There are about 460,000 residents in KC (at large candidates are elected from the entire City). That means each person is only "entitled" to 1/460,000th of 35,000 hours- or about 5 minutes- of their elected representatives time. And that assumes the elected representative works 24/7 without stopping.
Using more realistic parameters of a 2200 hour work year, the number goes down to about 1 minute and 15 seconds per person.
The practical impossibility of Ward's position should be apparant.
Besides, if elected will Ward meet with every constituent that demands it? I seriously doubt it.
Ward needs to let this thing with Jolly go and to stay focused on central campaign messages like the ISSUES, not on peripheral matters of SPOUSES.
Want to win or want to whine?
I wear husky jeans
ReplyDeleteTracy's friends on election day, you crack me up. I didn't know JOCO businessmen voted in KCMO.
ReplyDeleteAll you wanting hope and change, look where that got us.
"Ward's strength is her message of discontent with government."
ReplyDeleteIf her strength is her message of discontent with government then why has she surrounded herself with Jacob Turk and the local Republican circles? Their politics crashed our state and country. I don't get it.
From what I am seeing this is another Funkhouser type candidate who runs liberal and will push crap republican policies.
Show support for Ward, dye your bush pink
ReplyDeleteSeparate the MESSAGE from the POLITICS.
ReplyDeleteThe MESSAGE is discontent with the government, the strength of which your comments regarding Funkhouser and the Republicans seem to support.
The POLITICS you cite are, indeed, policies that destroy American.
