TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE MICHAEL BROOKS EARNS SUPPORT FROM FORMER COMPETITOR W. RUTH TURNER!!!

The 5th District Race to replace Terry Riley provides some news this morning.

From a very new but reliable TKC TIPSTER there's an important quote from a recent presser:

"I am supporting Michael Brooks for City Council because he's a man of the people with vision that impacts a greater cross-section of District 5 from youth having no hope to professionals desiring a better urban core to seniors needing a sustained quality of life."

W. Ruth Turner, P.E.
#############

This is a classy move from Ms. Turner but also an important endorsement for Pastor Michael Brooks who will need all the help he can muster if he is to challenge the name recognition of Former Councilman Ken Bacchus.

  1. Why hasn't the past money pitfalls of Bacchus and the under handed dealings of the lawsuit filled HEDFC, been an issue reported. The people need the truth. The housing problem KC faces right now is because of his name recognition and bad management..

  2. Ms Turner has class and so does Reverend Brooks.

  3. Bacchus is the very worst of yesteday's bad news. He just drifts from one taxpayer-supported job to the next and getting him back shoveling money out of the city hall till would be very bad news for everyone.
When are folkd finally going to figure out that they've been played by the same old crowd of self-appointed "leaders" for decades and have had millions of dollars wasted on these people's families and friedns that could have been put to good use in the neighborhoods.
Show Bacchus the door for keeps!

  6. Of all the council races this is the easiest decision. No retreads. My vote is for reverend Brooks and a new civil voice who understands the entire urban core.

  7. Brooks works in the third and lives in the fifth. He knows the urban core and has integrity.

  8. Brooks works in the 5th and lives in the fifth, his church is in the 5th district...learn your district and this will help when you vote!

  9. Brooks doesn't understand the "whole urban core" please don't blow smoke up our ass. He isn't the best choice but the better of the evil.

  10. Brooks campaign staff do not go negative with the Bacchus, this is not a good look for your candidate lets stick to facts, what has Brooks done plan to do for the 5th District, this is his 3rd run. I have never heard Brooks speak on anything of value and I for one don't believe that a minister should be holding a public office.

  11. Bacchus, has class and he is approachable unlike Brooks that will not speak to you 1st at all.

  15. Pastor Brooks is passionate about his work. If you've ever heard him speak, you'll understand why he should be elected. He's called politicians and so-called community leaders out in public while in their presence. He started a school for high school drop-outs. He's the real thing!

  17. Brooks has taken on education with the dropout school and adopt-a-school programs, taken on jobs by partnering with MoDot & A Call To Oneness to get folks CDL's. He's not afraid to tackle the race issue with MORE2. Leads a interdenominational, bi-racial minsters group that represents over 30 active congregations with the Concerned Clergy. He's working with the neigborhood association around his church to bring about economic development. He's been out there making change happen. He's the real deal and the best choice for the 5th district.
