MICHAEL FLETCHER BACK ON THE BALLOT BUT THE 3RD DISTRICT FIGHT CONTINUES!!!

First of all . . . A lot of people were surprised that the Missouri Supreme Court decided to look at Michael Fletcher's case.

And then today their somewhat complex ruling leaves A LOT of room for even more fighting in the 3rd.

From The Star: The Supreme Court denied requests (to stop implementation of Judge Ann Mesle ruling or order her to withdraw it). BUT, its order said, Fletcher could file a contest of the judge's original decision in the appeals court. Finally, the Court ordered Mesle to reinstate Fletcher to the ballot.

In real terms, this means more legal wrangling and a 3rd District fight that has so many voters scratching their heads.

BREAKING . . . CHECK THE STATEMENT FROM THE SHARON SANDERS BROOKS CAMP:

Supreme Court Rejects Fletcher's Writ Confirming Fletcher Campaign Misled Voters

Councilwoman Sanders Brooks once again calls for Fletcher to remove himself

Kansas City, MO--- The Missouri Supreme Court has ruled against Michael Fletcher's writ of prohibition request ordering him to follow the right protocol in appealing to the Court of Appeals. A move that our campaign fully expected and in fact supported. Below is a statement from Councilwoman Sharon Sanders Brooks.

"The court has once again ruled in our favor. Michael Fletcher was never removed from the ballot, simply disqualified as a candidate. This ruling only confirms what we knew to be the case, that Fletcher's campaign misled voters at the polls on election day, wrongfully claiming the courts had ruled in his favor. We fully expect he will appeal and we feel confident that Mr. Fletcher will be denied once again because it is his own words, documents and contacts that confirm he lives and resides in Long Beach, California while trying to run in Kansas City. Despite Mr. Fletcher clearly outspending both campaigns combined, with his own money, to persuade voters to vote for him while living in California--and using misleading tactics at the polls--the voters spoke loud and clear by supporting our re-election bid. We thank them for their support and ask Mr. Fletcher to do the right thing and remove himself from this election process in order to have a united Third District. It's time to move on," said Councilwoman Sharon Sanders Brooks.

  3. If the Supreme Court just made a decision today then why was I told by his campaign team that they made the decision on election day?

Looks like he is still disqualified to me.

  4. Just confirmed that Michael Fletcher was never reinstated on the ballot by the Supreme Court. Looks like you were given wrong information Tony.

  5. Is this just a technical point by the court or does it mean Fletcher is eligible to be elected? Friggins courts! I wish they would speak English in their rulings!

  6. If you take Fletcher's votes and Reed's votes the voters did speak loud and clear. They don't want anymore Sharon Sanders Brooks.

  7. Fletcher is only back on the ballot until he can file an appeal. That's all this is. A procedural thing so he can actually appeal the decision. This isn't any victory. Its a step closer to losing with finality.

  8. Anybody but Sharon Sanders Brooks!

  15. This is not a win for Fletcher 4:18. It's another win for Brooks. Dummy.

Why would SSB waste the breath and time for people to report a request for Fletcher to drop out of the race???

Oh, I know. She has that idiot Moreno working for her telling her he might just drop out. The only chance she has of winning.

  21. The Third deserves better than SSB. She's not a credit to her race. She's not even a credit to her species, whatever that may be.

  22. 3:20 pm stole my thunder--2/3's of those who voted voted for someone other than SSB.

6:26 that doesn't make any sense? Sharon Sanders Brooks team spanked Michael Fletcher when he was on the ballot after he spent $75,000.

That seems to be a pretty loud statement no matter how you try and spin it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Chris Moreno sank The SS Michael Fletcher in less than a month. That seemed to be a pretty loud statement. Those of us working with him feel he is impressive.

  26. It seems like the same two or three people attacking Sharon and Chris Moreno. Losing on Tuesday really hurt these people mentally. They need help.

I'm good enough. I'm smart enough. Gosh darnit why don't voters like me.

  28. Has anybody thought that SSB wins no matter what? Everybody agrees she beats whoever that kid she's running against is. If this Fletcher guy stays on the ballot she beats him because he is wounded badly. Sharon Sanders Brooks definitely stayed winning today.

  29. Moreno ROCKS!

  30. Fluther is the strongest candidate, but my problem with him is. Why does he want to give his self and the next city council raise’s? He thinks city council should make 90k a year is he fucking smoking. I myself do not like SSB or inexperienced Jermaine Reed. Once again KC is fucking screwed.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 3:21 You're on point! Do you realize how many people don't understand how to interpret laws and court procedures?

    ReplyDelete
  32. As a lawyer I am confused how this is a win for Fletcher? The Supreme Court merely said in legal terms "Go follow the rules. You appeal with the Circuit Court of Appeals before you Appeal with us."

Shouldn't a former lawyer know these procedures? I don't get why he is trying to buy time. He is currently disqualified from the ballot.

Fletcher/Brooks, Fletcher/Brooks... Who gives a shit? Jermaine Reed CARES about the people of the 3rd district, unlike the two losers, Fletcher/Brooks. Tony, PLEASE stop writing about these unethical people who care nothing about the people in their district. Let's start hearing about/from Jermaine Reed. Have you sat down with him and had lunch or coffee? PLEASE do so and start reporting some postives on him for the sake of the people. Lesa

  34. brooks ran to the court to get fletcher off the ballot or she would have lost. why didnt she just kick his ass fair and square

    ReplyDelete
  35. She did. She beat his vote talley by 4%. And the voters threw him off the ballot because he doesn't live here. Period. End of story.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ha,Ha 4% lead for an incumbent is nothing. Jermaine, was straight out the gates and earned almost 30%.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Fletcher and Brooks are transplants Jermaine was raised in the heart of the 3rd district. Went away to college, worked in government. Jermaine, will make the 3rd district proud.
