Weekend violence starts the day . . .
2 Dead In Triple Shooting At Kansas City Motel
KMBC reports that Kansas City police said the triple shooting happened in a motel room at the Red Roof Inn off Interstate 435 and Missouri Route 210 around 3:30 a.m.
Several officers are on the scene as a classic Penny Mathis pic adorns this post.
Looks like the KCPD PR Department is going to have to revise their press release about reduced crime in KCMO!
ReplyDeleteAnd just yesterday,it was reported that the Chariman of the police board was "stunned" to discover that detctives in the homicide unit didn't have their own cars or cell phones.
As clueles and useless as the members of that group are, they'd probably be "stunned" to discover that today is Saturday!
Can't the Governor find just FOUR competent serious residents to serve on this board?
The stakes are AWFULLY HIGH!
KCPD the King of spin. Hey maybe instead of eating steak and lobster and wasting 10's of thousands on fancy meals, they can get those detectives some cell phones so they can solve some crime
ReplyDeleteThe Board of Police Commissioners is the worst thing to happen to Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteOur City government... teaches the whole people by its example. If the City government becomes the lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every person to become a law unto himself; it invites and opens wide the doors to corruption at every level. It breeds a atmosphere of distrust where upon people no longer feel a civic duty to report wrong doing since it already exists at the highest level. The corruption and vices of the politically connected are often masqueraded as over sites or mistakes of error; and those of the poor and lowly, for crimes. Little wonder there is such a prevalent disregard for authority and an unwillingness to become a participate in such a flagrant corrupt system. Apathy takes root in the soil of corruption. In such an atmosphere neighborhood injustice is relatively easy to bear; it is government justice that hurts.
ReplyDeleteThe E-tax is nothing more than a spider web for the rich and politically connected, and a burden for the poor and weak, who pay it, but receive little in promised returns. It is nothing more than fishing net in the hands of the government. What a satire this is, when People try to live within their income so they can afford to pay taxes to a government that can not live within its.
Our City Government has lost its moral compass. It no longer serves the people who do most of the living and dying within its borders. It has become a model of self-serving corruption for the few. Passing the E-Tax and handing the money over to City Hall is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenagers. Mark Twain once said the scariest thing he ever saw was ignorance in action.
Vote no E-tax. Voting against the E-tax puts the voters in Kansas City in control. The Taxpayers will vote on Tax issues. It will stop the politicians from using money for political favors rather than city services. It puts the citizens back in control of the city's checkbook. It will put an end to city government waste.
More ranting about KCPD from the Axiom bloggers as part of their anti-e-tax gig.
ReplyDeleteGo home boys and girls and brush up on the City budget.
And not just the top line either.
Hey, maybe your boy Funky can help. He's smart with the money and has nothing better to do.
7:34 AM we notice you do not provide any facts. so take you ball and go home.
ReplyDeleteKCPD is the worst.
ReplyDeleteKCPD officers and detectives are NOT the worst! Place the blame where it belongs. The upper echelon are the problem. The officers work with what they have and do damn good jobs. Let's also put the responsibility on the criminals. Disclaimer: I am an ordinary citizen, not an officer or spouse of one.
ReplyDeleteDisclaimer: I am an ordinary citizen, not an officer or spouse of one.
ReplyDeleteWhy would you have to say that.
Dear Anonymous 2:32: People have to make disclaimers like that because in modern US politics no one bothers to attack someone else's arguments--they simply attack them on a personal basis. Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans
ReplyDeleteFor those who aren't keeping track, the Shoal Creek Patrol Division in KCMO has the most homicides in the city this year (4), edging out Central, East, and Metro who each have (2)(2) and (3).
ReplyDeleteCheck the facts. The hotel is in Randolph, not KCMO. KCPD is not investigating, Clay County Sheriff's dept is. As for any blame, put it on those that actually did the shooting, as well as those that were there but refused to say what happened.

ReplyDeleteWhat's your opinion of of 7:17. arguments ???
3:59; actually the address of the hotel is 3636 Northeast Randolph Road
ReplyDeleteKansas City, MO 64161. As for Clay County responding, their cell tower to 911 center was probably closest to the hotel.
Dear Anonymous 4:24: I fully agree with 7:17 that government is unresponsive and regularly wastes money. However, ending the E-Tax is like using a meat cleaver for brain surgury--it will end up killing the patient. My suggestion is more prosaic: If citizens want responsive, fiscally responsible government, they have to get involved politically--as long as we have the sort of dismal voter participation rates that we have in the US don't expect the political class to be responsive to the public. Thanks for reading my post!! Sincerely, Respectfully and In Christ, Ernest Evans
ReplyDeleteApart from all things said, DJ (Delfino) was a cool person and a ball of fire to be around. He always had everyone in the room laughing and was never in bad spirits. His family and closest friends are deeply grieved by what has happened. And I personally can say that I will miss his humorous conversations and his company.
ReplyDeleteDr. Evans is right, too.
