City Council Candidate Jim Glover Surprised Just About Everybody BUT TKC READERS!!!

Earlier we talked about a Kansas City political youth movement.

TKC TIPSTERS have also helped us identify so much money and influence floating around these power struggles in Kansas City.

But ultimately it was a story of a guy's life in Kansas City that earned him a place on the ballot despite his lack of resources going into the Primary campaign.

Jim Glover has paid his dues.

I didn't end up endorsing any candidates, I blogged my favorites I noticed who had the momentum, some great candidates shared info with the TKC BLOG COMMUNITY and I shared my observations . . .

But it was Jim Glover's personal story of adversity and enduring commitment to Kansas City that really sparked my interest in his latest campaign for City Council.

Jim has been through harsh times, he has worked for KC and experienced success AND failure but he just keeps plugging away. If there is an enduring parable for Kansas City life, Jim Glover seems to have stumbled upon it.

I hope to cover the 4th District from many perspectives and I don't want to play favorites to either candidate . . .

However, TKC always hopes to share powerful stories . . . And more than anything it was Jim Glover's story that moved him past The Primary.

  1. If hearing gunfire in Midtown is enough to get ou elected, all the rest of the candidates have to do is show up there sometime.
    Happens about every day!

  2. Jim,consentrate on your law practice. You've done your service, Go away.

  3. His practice must be suffering and he needs a supplement. Why not an easy gig.

  4. And Glover has not sent unsolicited bulk e-mail as far as this commenter knows.

Tony, you didn't endorse because nobody paid you.

You won't find a Rizzo every election.

  6. What is up with Glover and those dumb gloves? He looks ridiculous. Is he trying not to leave prints or what? He never left any while on the council, that's for sure.

  7. Glover desperately needs the $67.028.00 and Council perks to avoid filing bankruptcy. Take Pity on this miserable defective gadfly. The council is filled with lawyers who can't make it in their law practice or beauty shop.

  8. 6:48: Unlike most of the council members, Glover has some concrete accomplishments to his credit. Among other things he brought Home Depot and Costco to midtown from the 'burbs so people don't have to use a quarter tank of gas to save money. Any time he wants to run, he'll have my vote.

  9. Jim Glover is running for office because he needs a job. He represents the rotating political soap opera this town needs to dump. He will get into office and continue to work with his friends, and block his percieved enemies. We need to end that cycle at City Hall!

  10. Tony, all we had to do was outwork Anne McGregor's flea market campaign team. Easiest campaign we have ever been in.

Jim Glover campaigned for all of 3 weeks and still wiped the floor with Anne McGregor! Get your money back Anne! You've been punk'd!!!!!

  12. The Glover Plan has remained on the list of underperforming TIF's we all pay for every year. Thanks!

  13. I am sure Anne McGregor could land 10:48am a jobe if he gives her back the money she overpaid him with. Way to sink that ship loser.

  14. agreed 11:05. Failing to get Anne Mcgregor in the top two in that race is just unacceptable.

  15. get your facts straight, the Glover Plan TIF has always been in the top three performing TIFs in the city.

It has been and continues to be a complete, unequivocal success.

Check the TIF audits done annually by the City.

  16. Just what we need, more TIFs. How about a real economy rather than low level retail jobs and consumption? Should have been Anne

  17. "And Glover has not sent unsolicited bulk e-mail as far as this commenter knows."

really, you're still copy/pasting the same bellyaching complaint about "unsolicited bulk e-mail?" find something else to do.
