KANSAS CITY GOP POLITICAL CONSULTANT JEFF ROE WANTS YOU TO SAY YOUR PRAYERS BEFORE RUNNING FOR ELECTED OFFICE!!!

UPDATED: A Jeff Roe contribution to The Source blog (that he basically runs) is interesting because it describes the decision process he recommends before politico decides to seek office.

Jeff Roe notes that prayer is the biggest part of a political decision and any other choice.

That's an interesting perspective and I've never really thought of political matters in that way . . . Most of the time I just hold my nose before voting and I image the candidates do the same.

  5. Funny You Should Say That, Jeff1/21/11, 4:45 PM

As Americans, religious liberty is one of our most cherished freedoms.

As Christians, our first duty is to God, and regardless of the differences among the peoples of the Christian faith (and there are many), we have a moral responsibility to see that godly people are elected into positions of leadership. Christians have every right to strive by legitimate means to shape public policy according to our moral convictions.

This attitude should not necessarily be viewed as hostility by Christians towards people of other faiths. After all, as Christians we have been forgiven much ourselves- There but by the grace of God goes I- and God’s promise is for all sinners who are repentant and who turn to God.

“If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven; and I will forgive their sin; and I will heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14)

However, it is critical that we separate godly grace from godly responsibility. We have an obligation to God, our God, the God of the bible, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Joseph, to honor Him by doing our best to help elect candidates that share our precious saving faith in Christ and to work in opposition to those who do not. When you cast your ballot, you are helping to fulfill your Christian responsibility in government.

Presently, there is a person who holds elected office in Kansas City, and who is now a candidate for reelection to that office, that has a clearly demonstrated belief in the occult. Understand this is not about someone on the fringe of Christianity or a “searcher”, someone looking for God who just so happens to have become ensnared along the way. Instead, this person, after having been raised in the Christian faith, abandoned God and Christ to follow other gods and other faiths.
In fact, this person has actually brought cultic practices inside the walls of City Hall and forced dozens of City Hall staff, visitors and guests to participate in cultic prayer, rites, and idol worship. This is not the religious tolerance or freedom of religious expression that we, as Americans, have come to expect. This is, purely and simply, religious coercion and as Christians, we have a duty and obligation to contest this reprehensible behavior with all our heart, mind, soul and strength.
The person referred to is none other than Mayor Mark Funkhouser. Video recordings, court depositions, media reports and eyewitness accounts all document how Funkhouser has used his office and his position to spread and coerce his message of cultic worship.

    Consider:

    1. Funkhouser invited a Gaian Priestess of the paganist faith to explain her faith to those assembled in the City Council chambers for a Legislative session, and then allowed the Priestess to offer a paganist prayer over the persons assembled. In so doing, Funkhouser forced Christians to fundamentally compromise their faith.

A mixture of science, eastern mysticism, and feminism, Paganism, including Gaia, Druidism, Wicca and other “earth religions,” is a polytheistic religion (many gods) that rejects Christianity because Christians worship one God, the Creator, and NOT the creation, as stated in the First and Second Commandments:

“You shall have no other gods before me.

You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.

You shall not bow down or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but sowing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.” (Exodus 20, 3-6)

    2. Funkhouser forced City employees to participate in the practice of “smudging”, a pagan ritual.

As Christians, we would not elect an immoral person to a position of leadership within our churches.

Why then, should it be any different for positions of leadership within our government?

  6. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee.

  15. I love Pulp Fiction! Since we're referencing that, does this mean that Jeff Roe won't be so much of an asshole? Because I specifically remember Jules not blowing Bonnie and Clyde away at the end because they had caught him on a day that "God" interfered with His "divine intervention". Maybe Roe's last visit to the hospital made him experience the same. Doubt it though. Also, Roe is in no way as badass as Samuel L. Jackson.

PS. Tony, where the hell are the pics of the guys? I'm still waiting.
