TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY NEW SCHOOL COUNCIL CANDIDATES MEET THE PUBLIC AT THE BRICK!!!

It's interesting to me how new school Kansas City candidates have been busy as hell over the holiday and most of the more established names are simply phoning it in . . . In fact, when it comes to simply speaking with the public, a group of New School Candidates that I've been following shown a tremendous work ethic.

From left to right take a look at The Candidates who delivered their message at The Brick last night:

Edward Pace (4th District at Large)

Daina Kennedy (1st District at Large)

Brandon Ellington (3rd District at Large)

Tracy Ward (6th District at Large)

Mahlon Davis (5th District at Large)

They differ on a variety of issues, they come from different backgrounds but all of these candidates are adamant about an open discourse with voters and starting their campaigns at the local, grassroots level.

My bad, I would have had more to report but I was extremely excited to run into an hold high school lady friend with even bigger boobs than I remember. But I digress . . .

For folks who claim that they're tired of the status quo, these City Council candidates offer an alternative in the upcoming election cycle.

  5. Looks like the Bar scene from Star Wars!!

  6. Thank you Tony for the free advertisement you've provided these candidates, (same as Rizzo) You should know that we will be reviewing each candidate's finance reports and starting an investigation if they do not reflect this free advertisement.

  7. When I read Tracy Ward was affiliated with the 9/11 conspiracy fools, that was all for me. Until she denounces those idiots, I don't want to see another pink haired picture.

I think you just won the award for best comment of 2010.
    Seriously funny.

  9. And after the photo was taken Tracy Ward pulled a train on everyone.

  10. Tracy will look like actress Kathy Bates in two years.
It's the KC way of things.

  11. Mos eisley cantina crew

  12. It looks like the short bus dropped them off at the Star Wars Bar.

  13. Nice Bukkake party I see.

  14. They do have different views but they do all share a couple views: 1. They all seem to believe that the city spends excessively, and not on the right things. 2. They share the views of most citizens in KC on the current council which is that the current council does not conduct themselves in a constructive manner and ignores the public they are supposed to represent (and if your council member is Cathy Jolly, she ignores everyone who isn't interested in creating a big brother, totalitarian police state). I wish them all good luck. If you like the status quo of poor services, TIF funded failures, attacks on small, local businesses, immature infighting, sneaky fee increases (i.e. monthly water bills), and capitulations to the local unions then keep electing the "legitimate" candidates. If you want something different, then vote for something different.

  15. I'll admit that will the holidays and the election still weeks away, I have yet to do my homework on candidates Pace, Kennedy, Ellington and Davis.

However, if they have chosen to run on some sort of "new school" ticket with nutcase Tracy Ward, maybe they have saved me the bother.

I also recall some other guy who ran four years ago on the notion that City Hall was run by a bunch of money-grubbing elites, and he was going to bring about "real change."

What was his name again? Something like Funkhouser?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Cantina, you idiots, cantina!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Lisa Lampinelli was there last night?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Funkhouser is/was just an insider posing as an outsider, change candidate. Tracy's not perfect, but neither is anyone else. I like Tracy for one reason. She is the only one so far who has said that a $64,000 salary for a council person is ridiculous and she would lower her salary if elected, thats enough for my vote. Now that I know the council people get a pension in addition to their salary, I want them all voted out. $64K and a pension for a two day a week part time job - now I know why the E-Tax is so important, it pays for "governance." They even tell you that http://www.kcmo.org/idc/groups/citymanager/documents/citymanagersoffice/earningtax.pdf

  19. Try that again

  37. There is a good reason none of the neo-Libertarian, pseudo-radical, "Down with the Establishment!" Ayn Rand and Ronald Reagan disciples are all running at-large.

They know there is not enough of their type of voter in any single district, so they hope to attract what few there are city-wide while hoping the turnout is low. Only chance they got.

Lordy, I wish I could count the number of elections I voted in in which some candidate was going to shake up the status quo. Come to think of it, all of them.

    ReplyDelete
  38. should read "There is a good reason ALL of the neo-libertarian . . ," not "NONE"

    It's early and it's New Year's Day.
