Earlier this year TKC noted that the Bluebird on the Westside was robbed at closing.
Today's news that's part of a growing crime trend on Kansas City's Westside:
"Three masked men robbed Don’s Market & Liquor early today at 3000 Southwest Boulevard in Kansas City.
The men, wearing gloves and white masks, used a silver revolver to order two clerks to the floor about 12:35 a.m."
Around my beloved Westside there's talk of expanding the highway and taking out even more houses ALSO middle-class real estate speculators are hoping against hope that the real estate market is going to turn around and renew their fortunes.
However, the REALITY on the streets of all of Kansas City is that things are getting more desperate and violent in the urban core, throughout the City and in spite of so much PR.

ReplyDeleteI expect far south side is still fairly safe, and certain parts of the Northland where the riff raff can't afford.
ReplyDeleteDon't group the entire urban core together...only certain parts that share the same demos. Neighborhoods are only as good s the neighbors in them. If you claim to be a victim that is all you will ever be.

Time for Alonzo and Al Brooks to suit up and start the low-rider super anti-crime mobile and head for another part of town.

If more robbers were shot and killed on the spot, maybe some of this foolishness would stop.
