  1. Our nation is dying on the vine while we follow the bright lights of partisan bickering.
Corporations are not hiring because they have workers doing the job of two. Corporations continue to post profits, but still treat workers like dogs. 1 million new jobs were created....overseas!
Our next mayor MUST UNDERSTAND our new economy. He will not have time to learn the ropes. He will need to work with all levels of government, educators and businesses to retain our current employers and to eventually grow new jobs. That person is the current front runner, Mike Burke. Hands down the best qualified.

  3. During the last 10 years, American wealth has transfered DRAMATICALLY into the hands of the many, to the hands of the few. 34.5& of American wealth is held by 1% of the populaiton. 10% more hold another 70% if that same wealth.

Our economic policies, localy and nationally have failed, the regular guy in the street.

We are fast becoming a 3rd world country where a very few at the top, supported by about 10 to 15% of the rest, own virtually everything.

Fuck Wall Street goons like LLoyd Blankfien, companies like Bank of America, Morgan Stanley and the legions of robber barons who have crippled this once great country with wars, economic pestilance, elitist agendas, insider trading and out and out theft of the once achievable egalitarian American dream.

We have sold our kid's future down the drain over the 20 years in search of cheaper material goods made by slaves in forign lands while China and others demonstrated our 18th and 19th centry business model, mercantilism. We lowered tarrifs, they raised 'em.

We let our kids off easy and blew of education, while over seas, motivated kids, tortured by their parents to achieve have passed us by.

We can join our politicians and the 4th estate in the 4th Circle.

This isn't a recession, its the last great blast of a dying empire that rotted from within.

    Get me fuckin fiddle.

  4. Tony... learn this. This is not about a RECESSION. Corporate America has farmed out manufacturing jobs overseas.

That's the long and the short of it. Go back to school, take some current economics. This is a megatrend. These jobs ABSOLUTELY will not be coming back at the end of any current recessions we're in.

It might not even be a recession. We may have now lost so much life blood, this is the best it's gonna ever be.

Tell your kids to get high tech educations or just learn your new trade in high school at McDonalds, if they even hire young people anymore.

  5. Foreign companies are stealing our jobs. Some elected officials will stand by and allow that because they have been paid off by the foreign company. It is not a free market when they do not play by the same rules. Wise up and save our jobs!
