Once again Mayor Funky is caught in another display of naïveté, hypocrisy and downright opportunism.
Kansas City's Outgoing Mayor Funkhouser recently celebrated a Chiefs victory despite the fact his votes and rhetoric have actively jeopardized the team's funding. Mayoral Candidates Jim Rowland is calls the Mayor out on the inconsistency and all of the other candidates endorse the subsidy of the team from KC Proper.
Money Quote from Jim Rowland:
“The hypocrisy of the mayor knows no boundaries,” Rowland said. “Literally two and a half weeks ago, to vote against funding for the complex, and now to be congratulating the team and boasting about the playoff game. … Does he have no shame?”
Personally, I've always noted that The Kansas City Chiefs are overrated and will undoubtedly make an early exit from The Playoffs. However, Mayor Funky jumping on yet another bandwagon and desperate to find support in direct contradiction to his statements and actions once again demonstrates a local politico frantically heading into the election with no support and without any remaining principles.
It was funny when everyone wanted a Mayor that didn't represent the status quo but now that we got it know one likes it. They prefer being ripped off by the establishment types instead of the front porch types.
ReplyDeleteSo, according to Rowland the only way to support something is to throw public tax dollars at it?
ReplyDeleteHold on to your wallets, Kansas City!
Hypocrisy and opportunism by a political candidate!
ReplyDeleteShocking!
What about Rowland's promise to visit all the murder sites if he's elected?
Why do the birds keep on singing? Why do these eyes of mine cry?
ReplyDeleteTony, you worry too much. Eat some bacon... What? No, I got no idea if it'll make you feel better, I just made too much bacon
ReplyDeleteRowland blaming someone else of hypocrisy is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteFunk sleeps with his shame every night.
ReplyDeleteRowland has treated the Sports Authority like his own private piggy bank...remember, hogs get slaughtered...he's bacon!
